FOREWORD :

Hi there, my darlings! As part of the FRIEND-AN-INDIE-FRIDAY featured giveaways, I'll also be posting a review of some of the new brand's creations as well as an exclusive interview with each maker, so people can get a little glimpse into the world of the face behind the brand! Today, I present Tennessee of Bear Pawlish!! Read on for a peek into the woman behind the brand!

1. How did you first get into making polish?

I happened to have a friend who had her own line decide to stop making polish. I bought her supplies and the rest is history!

2. What was the inspiration for the name Bear Pawlish?

My nick name for my daughter is Bear. My best friend was the main creative force behind the name.

3. What inspires your collections (or where do you look for inspiration)?

What inspired your latest collection? Any hints/ideas about upcoming collections? My inspirations come from a variety of places all over! Movies, t.v, music, books and bits and phrases of things I hear day to day or conversations I have had. What ever strikes my mood really. As for upcoming collections. I decide on the fly whenever the creative bug bites me.

4. Do you have a favorite indie maker(s)? Favorite mainstream brand?

My favorite indie makers would have to be Jindie Nails, and Lumina. SInce I started making polish I dont have as much time to paint my nails as before and to keep my creativity mine I try not to shop around too much so there is no "I need to make that" mentality.

5. What are your go-to products for nail/cuticle care?

Grape seed oil! It is amazing on my dry hands.

6. What are your favorite colors?

Electric Blue.

 In general?

Water colors. I am a sucker for ocean blues and greens.

For summer?

NEON!!

For fall?

Golds and rose.

7. This may be hard--but which are your 3 favorite creations so far?

Easy! Maleficent, See You Next Tuesday and Haloki.

8. Do you have any other hobbies?

Lots! I love artisan handcrafted soaps. I have also recently been bitten by the fitness bug. And contradictory to that cooking.

9. What is your most favorite thing about being a new indie maker?

I love that I have FINALLY found a creative outlet for myself, that is self sustaining makes it perfect!!

What are some of the challenges?

Working at home with a toddler running around! I am a work at home Mom so I really only get to work when she is sleeping or someone is around to help with her. She loves holo and glitter!

What advice would you give to people considering starting their own brand?

Find a good base!! Dont just buy what is cheap or popular.

Overall, are you happy with your decision to get into the indie polish world?

I really am! I have no plans to stop any time soon.
