If there is one thing I never leave home without, it's a bit of eyeliner on my lower lashlines. But finding the perfect eyeliner for everyday use has been a challenge...until now! Hi there, my darlings! So...Tuesday it poured ALL day and yesterday there was a definite nip in the air! Could it be...? The end of Summer? Already? All I have to say to that is...YAY!!!!!!! For my regular readers, you already know how I feel about the heat and conversely, how much I love Fall. So, I'm not at all sad to see the hotter months come to an end! Although, if there's anything at all I'll miss, it would be the brighter, bold colors of Summer! With that in mind, let's share a last hurrah of sorts to Summer, at least when it comes to nails  Zoya Nail Polish and Treatment's Jelly Brites collection!


The Jelly Brites collection consists of 3 juicy, squishy, super shiny shades in jelly finishes.  Now, it has to be noted that jelly polishes are ALWAYS sheer so if visible nail lines bother you terribly, these may not be your faves. However, if you're like me and a little VNL doesn't make a bit of difference to you in the face of squishy, shiny prettiness, then you will love these! Across the board, I found the formula of these jellies to be absolute perfection--they apply very easily and dry quite quickly. Unless specifically mentioned, all the swatches below show 4 thin coats of each polish by itself, no topcoat, just to show you how they look when fully opaque. Now, on to swatches...and a little bit of accent nail art!


Molly is described as "a non-streaking, buildable, translucent red/pink jelly with an ultra glossy finish".This wear a bit more on the pinker side on me than in the bottle but nonetheless, it's a gorgeous color and oh-so-juicy!

Alia is described as "a non-streaking, buildable, translucent plum jelly with an ultra glossy finish". A truly magnificent shade of purple! Like ice-cold grapes on a hot Summer day!

Paris is described as "a non-streaking, buildable, translucent fuchsia jelly with an ultra glossy finish". I adore all three shades in this set but if I HAD to pick a favorite, this beauty would be it! Such a beautifully flattering shade!

Love at first stroke! There's just no other way to put it! I was so...meh about this palette when I first looked at it. Sure, it's glittery. Yes, it's pretty. But pretty glitters can be a pain to apply and an even bigger pain to remove. So, I was skeptical, to say the least...until I swatched them, that is! And then I gotta say...wow! These were the easiest glitters EVER! You can swipe on a whole lot or just a bit, with your fingers or the included eyeshadow sponge brush, and DONE! I mean, literally these glitters dry in seconds, and all but jump off the sponge tips onto your skin. As for removal, I found it pretty easy to wipe clean with a regular, old baby wipe. Glitter me IMPRESSED!

GALACTIC EYE Palette ($8.00 USD/$8.98 CAD at Walmart)

But, to be honest, this palette left me kinda disappointed. These eyeshadows are more foils and less metallic so there's a weird tendency for them to just flake right off. As pretty as some of the shades are, I wasn't really very happy with this one. Pass.

Hi there, my darlings! Oh the week and a half I've had! Between orientation for the new job and my killer commute, I literally haven't had a chance to breathe! But I promised myself that I would keep blogging and blog I shall. Nevertheless, every once in awhile, things slip through the cracks. Case in point: this post! Hi there, my darlings! You know, I'm sure there will come a day when I'm no longer excited about discovering a new brand or ecstatic over an established brand's new launch. A day when makeup no longer gives me a thrill, no longer makes me happy. But...that day is not today! After a really long, exhausting week last week, with my usual 4 hour, killer commute, I came home to a package from a shiny new brand and I swear, it made my whole day better! I'm happy to report that I found a whole lot of pleasure from discovering the adorably packaged brand, Nuest Cosmetics. Take a peek--I bet you'll fall in love too!


SHEER GLOW CUSHION FOUNDATION + PHOTO FINISH ROSE PRIMER ($38.00 USD)

As for the primer, I actually may get some use out of that. Although hard to see in the picture below, it has a very light, rose tint to it...which means it would be great to prime the under-eye area in particular!

Well, let's just start off by saying that...I LOVE THIS! I want to literally bathe in this stuff! A gel formula highlighter? It's as if it was MADE just for me. Incredibly intense, a little goes a long way with this stuff. Just dab on a little bit and make to smooth on immediately because this baby dries super quick into a sheen. Much like a topcoat would. I honestly find one thing I don't like about this--from the color to the formula, it's a huge winner for me. YUGE.

Being a staunch believer in the Beauty Blender, I honestly do not see the point of silicone sponges. Unless, ok, maybe if you're using an expensive product and don't want to waste a smidge. That being said, using a silicone sponge may not waste much product but it doesn't help one bit with blending. So, in short, if there's a product, such as blush or highlighter, that you can swipe on and not bother with blending, I guess this little sponge will come in handy. Otherwise, it's pretty much just an adorable, little prop.

OK so dark circles. No matter how much sleep I seem to get, I'm plagued by them. And if I don't get enough sleep, I pretty much walk around looking like a raccoon. So, I've been searching high and low for the perfect concealer, just for those days when my sleep schedule has been all out of whack. Formula-wise, I like these A LOT. They aren't too heavy and blend quite easily. When it comes to the shades I was sent, welllll...Light is obviously way to light for me and Medium is kinda touch-and-go. At this price, I fully intend to try a couple of more shades.

If bloating, especially around your face and particularly during PMS or shark week, is your problem, then a little contouring or highlighting can go a long way in helping you feel and look less puffy. But when it comes to contouring, quick and easy has to be the name of the game for me. I want to swipe, blend and go. The WonderStick allows you to do just that! Bonus that it's very portable so you can throw it in your purse and whip it out in the ladies' room at work, if you're running late in the morning (like I invariably am).

Hi there, my darlings! TGIF! I can't believe I finally get to say this...and really mean it! Don't get me wrong--I love my new position! LOVE it! But, the commute is killer, as I mentioned previously, and my day has just been drastically cut down. I literally do not know where my time goes. Let me start by saying that I do NOT have time nor do I intend to make time for a full face of foundation in the morning...that, too, definitely not in the summer. But that means if I ever need to head out after work, the dark circles and blemishes on my face will have a field day popping up in pictures. Can't have that, now can we? Which is why, I really like the Blurring Primer which can be mixed in with moisturizer or just smoothed on by itself. It immediately brightens my face and makes my skin tone more even. Plus, the shine-free finish means that my oily skin isn't annoyed with me.

The foundation I like because it's super light weight. Otherwise, believe me, I would steer clear. You can tell immediately from the pics below that it's a juicier, lighter voundation which still provides full coverage. The demi-matte finish is infinitely wearable, especially during the hotter months and I do believe that Tan (far left) serves me quite below. Golden Dark (second from left below) is also swatched.

As much as I hate to share unavailable products, this handy, portable, everything-you-need palette really deserved a mention! With a great range of shades and finishes, the eyeshadows can take you from day to night in a snap, while the blush-highlighter-contouring shade trio (bottom three swipes) take care of your urge to add a little definition to your features.

Special shout out to the Big Lash mascara, which gives me so much volume and length with that thick, comb-like brush! A little mascara can totally wake up tired, worked-all-day eyes!

Last but not least, the lipgloss dubbed Exposed is a pretty nude shade both for work and to pair with a smokey eye look for after hours. I'm not a huge fan of lipglosses but it's a pretty enough shade to throw on before running out the door in the morning.
