BEAR PAWLISH Part II : Swatches, Review, and comparison

Hi there, my darlings! This is starting out to be an unusually busy week--I guess I should have figured there would be a million things to do before I left for India but...damn! There are more loose ends than there are hours in the day! Sigh. But anyway...let's talk about this afternoon's post! Today, I have for you my swatches of two more gorgeous holos from Bear Pawlish and a quick little comparison post!

Like the four I reviewed earlier HERE, I was super impressed with both the formula and application of these two holos--they went on smooth and creamy, without being streaky or patchy. All the swatches below show 2 smooth coats by itself. Alrighty, ready to take a peek at these?


Haloki is a gorgeous duochrome polish with a strong linear holographic finish. For the life of me, I couldn't pinpoint this color! Is it blue? Is it violet? Is it slate gray? Is it grayed blue? I don't know but it's gorgeous!

UltraViolet is a stunning, bright purple polish with a strong linear holographic finish. This is the almost-twin of Maleficent and just as breath-taking!

And now we come to a quick, little comparison of Maleficent and UltraViolet. When I looked at these two beauties in the bottle, they looked EXACTLY the same. EXACTLY. I just could not tell them apart. But when I swatched them on a nail wheel, there was a subtle but noticeable difference. Ultra Violet is shown above and you can find my swatches of Maleficent HERE. My conclusions--while both "blurple" (blue-purple), Ultraviolet leans more purple while Maleficent leans more of a bright blue--Ultraviolet is a bright purple with blue undertones while Maleficent is a bright blue with purple undertones. Phew! Close, super close, but not the same! And the holographic effect? Both very strong but UltraViolet may have the teensiest edge. See for yourself!
