THE HOLO HOOKUP collaboration box for March 2016 : Swatches and Review

Hi there, my darlings! Ah, it's good to be on break! It's been all about naps, nighties and Netflix...and oh, lots of swatching! So today, I'd like to share the next installment of The Holo Hookup collaboration box featuring Jill of Glisten & Glow, Missi of Different Dimension and Sara of Cupcake Polish. The all-holo box for March 2016 will have Fair Maiden Polish as the special guest maker and March's theme is 'The Candy Shop'--this month is all about bright, fun colors! Take a quick peek at the yummy inspiration behind this month's box!

Lemonheads from Cupcake Polish is a "bright yellow linear holo with heavy gold and pink shimmers". Lovely application and formula--the swatches below show 2 easy coats topped with 1 thin coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat. My complexion picks up a tinge of green undertones but if you're looking for a super fun, bright yellow, you NEED this!

Blue Raspberry Airheads from Different Dimension is a "bright blue/leaning teal linear holo with heavy shimmers". Fantastic formula and application--the swatches below show 2 easy coats topped with 2 generous coats of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat to bring it all together. This is the perfect, perfect shade of bright blue and I absolutely am in love with it!

Pink Rock Candy from Glisten & Glow is a "bright pink linear holo with cherry and silver holo micro glitters and pink shimmers". Buttery smooth application and formula--the swatches below show just 2 coats topped with 1 thin coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat. I think I may have scared Jill with my overenthusiastic reaction to this polish but seriously! This is right up there with Hpnotiq Hurricane as one of my fave G&G's EVAR! I couldn't get myself to take this baby off!

Now & Later from Fair Maiden Polish is a "grape purple linear holo with pink/gold flakes". No issues to report with formula and application--this is more of a jelly finish and may need an extra coat for full opacity. I usually use thin coats and I liked the finished look of 3 coats with this one so the swatches below show 3 thin coats topped with 1 thin coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat. This is my first Fair Maiden and it's definitely a beauty!

  1. I think that I've just died and gone to holo heaven!!! These are some gorgeous polishes with of course pink rock hard candy coming in first! Jill does some of the most amazing holos that I've ever seen. I just need to save up for her polishes. Blue raspberry airheads come in at a sting second.
