Alrighty then! I think I had a rather productive Sunday night of review posts, don't you? I do believe I'll be all caught up! YAY! But before that can happen, I have one more fantastic review for tonight and I'm super-duper excited for this one! I get to introduce you all to a brand I've fallen in love with, HARD--Daphine Polish!

Now, when Joanne of Daphine Polish contacted me regarding a review of her brand-new polishes, I have to say we clicked almost immediately! We're both for New York City, we both love polish and she's just a really, really sweet girl! I knew I had to find out more about her brand! She gave me a choice of three polishes to review and I have to say, I was really hard-pressed to pick only 3--all her polishes look gorgeous! But pick I did! I chose Lanwdale High, Deep Blurple and Surf and Sand for my first review!

When I received them, I was a little perplexed by the super long brush handles on the bottle but I'll be the first to admit that my hesitation was entirely unfounded--when swatching, the long handles actually helped stabilize the brush and I was able to apply the polish really smoothly. It was pretty much like holding a pencil and gave me that much more control over my brush strokes!

With that said, first I have for you, Lawndale High--a lovely, rich blue jelly polish with blue and gold circle (!!!) glitter and a touch of small gold holographic glitter. I love jellies and I love circle glitter so this won my heart from the get-go! The formula is fairly thin but I found that to be an advantage more than anything--it allows you to build up the level of opacity you desire and there was no clumping or streaking to deal with. The polish went on smoothly and the glitters were evenly distributed--I didn't have to fish for a thing! I used four, thin coats for the swatches below and topped it off with 1 coat of G&G's HK Girl.

Next, I have for you Deep Blurple--a bluish-purple, lightly holographic polish, quite descriptive in its name! Lol! Once again, the formula was quite thin but very easy to apply and I used 3 coats below to achieve full opacity. I didn't facing any of the streaking or dragging that challenges many holographic polishes and the shade was rich while still exhibiting a pretty holographic shimmer!

With flash!

Finally, last but not by any means the least, my FAVORITE of the three, Surf and Sand--a fabulous slightly off-white jelly polish filled with yellow, blue and gold circle and microglitter and medium gold stars! When speaking to Joanne after the swatches were up on Facebook, she told me that they looked exactly how she wanted--slightly "sandy" in nature, to reflect the Beach theme of which it is a part. I couldn't agree more--the name is quite apt in this case as this polish reminds me of nothing more than a clear, sunlit day on the beach! The formula on this, as with the others, was quite thin and the stars did tend to sink a little towards the bottom of the bottle. However, a good shake was all that was needed to re-distribute them quite evenly and the rest of the glitter was no challenge at all! I used 4 thin coats to achieve the opacity of the swatches below, topped with 2 thin coats of G&G's HK Girl. I'm so in love with this beauty!

Hey there! Still with me while I catch up on my Sunday night blog posts? =D You are? YAY! I promise it'll be worth sticking around! Because, I have another new brand to introduce and review--Starlight and Sparkles!

From what I perused of her Etsy shop, Issa of Starlight and Sparkles has a penchant for gorgeous duochromes and duochrome topcoats, some that were truly unique! She sent me 3 duochrome topcoats and a holographic topcoat to review for my readers and boy! I got a wee bit carried away with pictures, as you'll soon see!

All swatches below are 1 smooth coat of the duochrome topcoat in question over two coats of Revlon Royal--application on each and every one of the three reviewed was flawlessly smooth and easy. I took several pics in my lightbox, at different angles, to try to capture the color shifts with each of these.

First up, I have Phoenix--a duochrome that shifts from red to gold to green!

Next, I have Dragon--a duochrome that shifts from bronze/gold to green!

Finally, I have Unicorn--a duochrome that shifts from a cool green to blue!

I also decided to do a quick comparison to show you the differences between the 3 duochromes--from index to ring, 1 coat each of Phoenix, Dragon and Unicorn over 2 coats of Revlon Royal, and on the pinkie, just out of curiosity, I layered 1 coat of all three over 2 coats of Revlon Royal! I'm totally enamored with how the layering of the duochromes look on the pinkie! What do you think?

And as a bonus, Issa included Starlight--a holographic topcoat! I used 2 thin coats over 3 coats of Priti NYC Jersey Beauty Dahlia! The result was SUCH a unique color of holographic polish and the topcoat caused very little, if any, graying of the base color. Application, again, was super smooth.

With flash!

Phew! I hope you all enjoyed all the swatches and pics as much as I enjoyed taking them! It's quite easy to get lost in the world of duochromes! =) If you'd like to purchase one of these beauties yourself, you can find them HERE for the price of $10 for a full-size, 0.5 oz bottle!

As always, your feedback in the comments section below is welcome and appreciated.

Until next time,

Hi you guys!! I'm really excited to post this next review! This, again, is a brand totally new to me and one that has subsequently impressed me on many counts--The Lady Varnishes!

One of the things that most impressed me about indie makers often is the level of care they put into the packaging of their product and The Lady varnishes really took it to another level with hers! Each bottle is individually wrapped in bubble-wrap and then placed into a little organza bag--mine matched the shade of polish! The bottles themselves are super cute and each comes with it's own little charm, in your choice of copper or silver--the charms are unique to each bottle. Plus, these polishes come with your choice of --you can pick between bergamot, cranberry, jasmine, lilac blossom, peppermint, sweet orange, victorian rose or just go totally unscented! So many choices that it allows you to custom your polishing experience!

I have two polishes from The Lady Varnishes for review tonight--Magicians and Mirrors and That's Close Enough. I chose a silver charm and unscented for Magicians and Mirrors and a lilac blossom scent and a copper charm for That's Close Enough. Here are a couple of bottle shots of Magicians and Mirrors and That's Close Enough, respectively :

First, let's discuss Magicians and Mirrors--a smoky blue-gray loosely holographic polish with a touch of gold shimmer. This applied just a bit on the thicker side, so I found using generous coats and fewer brush strokes really helped--by the second coat, it leveled out quite well. I used 3 generous coats for the swatches below and the results are quite stunning!

The second polish is That's Close Enough--a truly gorgeous bright blue jelly polish with red microglitter, small blue glitter and medium irisdescent hexes. This is the one I had chosen scented with Lilac Blossom and the scent was mild and sweet, not at all overpowering! The application on this was flawless and I used 3 coats for the swatches below. I'm quite taken with this beauty!

So there you have it! I do urge you to check out these and lots of other beauties at The Lady Varnishes' Etsy shop HERE--I don't think you will be disappointed! Holographic polishes are $11 and glitter polishes are $9, for full-size, 0.5 oz bottles.

As always, I welcome your feedback in the comments section below!

Until next time,

Hi my darlings! The weekend's almost over, huh? Have you noticed that time moves way faster on a Sunday evening, than it does, say, on a Monday afternoon? Yeah? I thought so! Anyways! Let's check out some reviews to pass the time, shall we?

A few weeks ago, I won a random and very generous gift of a polish from Northern Star Polish through one of my polish groups on Facebook and since this is a brand completely new to me, I knew I had to review it for you!

The polish sent to me is named Inconceivable--a gorgeous teal jelly polish with small gold micro-glitter for added sparkle. Since jellies go on sheer, I used 3 smooth coats for the swatches below and topped it off with 1 thin coat of G&G's HK Girl. The application on this polish posed no challenge and the glitter was evenly distributed throughout the base.

There you have it! My first ever Northern Star Polish! If you would like to purchase this or any other of the beauties I spied in her shop, you can find her Etsy shop HERE--a full size, 0.5 oz bottle is $8.50.

Have questions? Comments? Suggestions? Leave them for me in the comments section below! =)

Until next time,

Hi there! Still with me? I'm so glad! Because I wanted to post one more review tonight and that's the second polish that Kim from OverallBeauty--Dollish Polish's You're a Real Sweet Tart! Now I really find names like this, a clever little puns or play on words, really amusing so I admit a giggled a little when I read it!

You're a Real Sweet Tart is sweet white crelly with medium matte squares and hexagons in pastel shades of purple, minty green, baby blue, yellow and pink. For those of you looking for a softer, more feminine mix of glitters, this crelly may be the one for you! I had no issues with the application and I chose to use 3 coats of You're a Real Sweet Tart by itself and I used one thin coat of G&G HK Girl to finish off the look.

So that's all for tonight, folks! If you loved this polish and would like to add it to your collection, you can find it HERE for $10 for a full-size, 0.5 oz bottle!

Well, hello there! Good to see you here! I hope the beginning of the week has been treating you kindly--I, for one, am ready for the weekend already! Lol! Since the weekend won't get here any faster, let's distract ourselves with pretty polishes, shall we? =)

Recently, the super sweet Kim of OverallBeauty sent me a couple of polishes to review for my blog and in this package, I discovered a brand that is totally new to me--Windestine! Now I've definitely heard of Windestine and have seen some gorgeous beauties floating around but just haven't gotten around to purchasing any yet. So needless to say, I was pretty excited to try it out!

The Windestine I've reviewed for you is Carbon Copy--a clear-based topper packed full of tiny black microglitter. I wanted to try something different with this glitter since it's quite unusual to find an all-black glitter topper so I decided to layer it over a holo! I layered 2 coats over 2 coats of Color Club Harp On It on the index and ring fingers and 1 coat over 2 coats of CC Harp On It on the middle and pinkie fingers. The application of the glitter was really smooth and each stroke seemed equally packed with glitter. The result, as shown below, is quite interesting--the holo still shows through but the glitter adds a different dimension to the look. What do you think?

With flash!

So what do you think of this layering combo? Like it? Need this glitter to try your own combination? You can find it HERE on OverallBeauty's site for $8 for a full-size, 0.5 oz bottle!

As always, your feedback makes me happy! Please feel free to leave it in the comments section below!
I promise I read every one of them!

Until next time,
