RAINBOW HONEY : A review of three beauties from The Summer of 199X collection!

Hello my darlings! I am SO excited to bring you this review that I figured if I didn't write this review soon, I might just POP! =D So, to avoid my imminent popping and to show you guys three gorgeous polishes, I decided to write this up really quickly!

I do have a few lovely Rainbow Honeys in my stash but I've been REALLY excited about thE Summer of 199X collection--bright shimmers, glitterbombs and glitter topcoats? Yes, please! So, when I spoke to Carolyn about the possibility of doing a review and she graciously informed me that the polishes would be from THIS collection, I was overjoyed!

Rainbow Honey's press release describes the collection as follows :

Rainbow Honey presents its newest collection, Summer of 199X
featuring 10 new colors inspired by the 1995 SNES hit, Earthbound
“Another video game that holds a special place in my heart! I wanted this collection to bring me back into the game, and I think each new lacquer takes me to a special moment or reminds me of a certain boss that resulted in one too many Game Over’s...
Part I is made up of 5 new glitterbombs bursting with shimmer and color - they all layer to opacity but can be used over other colors as well. Part II is 3 new shimmer-dusted cremes and 2 new glitter toppers that give each creme a bold or sweet look. I am so excited to add these all to our lineup!” – Dee

Being a former gamer myself (Farmville! Yeah, yeah, okay, don't laugh! Those color-changing sheep were the electronic version of holographic polish), I found it totally cool that she was inspired by one of her favorite video games. After all, I think inspiration comes to us in the little things of our daily lives.

With that being said, I have three polishes from Part II of the Summer 199X collection--Tessie, Apple Kid and I Miss You.

First up, I have for you is Tessie--a dusty periwinkle lavender creme full of blue micro shimmer! I had no issues with the formula and application was a breeze. I used 3 easy coats for the swatches below.

Next up, I have for you is my personal favorite of the three, Apple Kid--a super bright fuschia creme packed full of hot pink shimmer! This is such a fun, bright shade--while not neon, it comes pretty darn close! Once again, I had no issue with application and I used 3 smooth coats for the swatches below.

Last but definitely not the least, I have I Miss You--a pastel glitter topper with glitters in various sizes such as butterflies (!!!) and iridescent shimmer. The formula on this was just right, not too thick nor too thin, such that I didn't have to sit there fishing for glitters--even the butterflies came out easily! I used 2 thin coats over 3 coats of Apple Kid.
