Introducing Daphine Polish!

Alrighty then! I think I had a rather productive Sunday night of review posts, don't you? I do believe I'll be all caught up! YAY! But before that can happen, I have one more fantastic review for tonight and I'm super-duper excited for this one! I get to introduce you all to a brand I've fallen in love with, HARD--Daphine Polish!

Now, when Joanne of Daphine Polish contacted me regarding a review of her brand-new polishes, I have to say we clicked almost immediately! We're both for New York City, we both love polish and she's just a really, really sweet girl! I knew I had to find out more about her brand! She gave me a choice of three polishes to review and I have to say, I was really hard-pressed to pick only 3--all her polishes look gorgeous! But pick I did! I chose Lanwdale High, Deep Blurple and Surf and Sand for my first review!

When I received them, I was a little perplexed by the super long brush handles on the bottle but I'll be the first to admit that my hesitation was entirely unfounded--when swatching, the long handles actually helped stabilize the brush and I was able to apply the polish really smoothly. It was pretty much like holding a pencil and gave me that much more control over my brush strokes!

With that said, first I have for you, Lawndale High--a lovely, rich blue jelly polish with blue and gold circle (!!!) glitter and a touch of small gold holographic glitter. I love jellies and I love circle glitter so this won my heart from the get-go! The formula is fairly thin but I found that to be an advantage more than anything--it allows you to build up the level of opacity you desire and there was no clumping or streaking to deal with. The polish went on smoothly and the glitters were evenly distributed--I didn't have to fish for a thing! I used four, thin coats for the swatches below and topped it off with 1 coat of G&G's HK Girl.

Next, I have for you Deep Blurple--a bluish-purple, lightly holographic polish, quite descriptive in its name! Lol! Once again, the formula was quite thin but very easy to apply and I used 3 coats below to achieve full opacity. I didn't facing any of the streaking or dragging that challenges many holographic polishes and the shade was rich while still exhibiting a pretty holographic shimmer!

Finally, last but not by any means the least, my FAVORITE of the three, Surf and Sand--a fabulous slightly off-white jelly polish filled with yellow, blue and gold circle and microglitter and medium gold stars! When speaking to Joanne after the swatches were up on Facebook, she told me that they looked exactly how she wanted--slightly "sandy" in nature, to reflect the Beach theme of which it is a part. I couldn't agree more--the name is quite apt in this case as this polish reminds me of nothing more than a clear, sunlit day on the beach! The formula on this, as with the others, was quite thin and the stars did tend to sink a little towards the bottom of the bottle. However, a good shake was all that was needed to re-distribute them quite evenly and the rest of the glitter was no challenge at all! I used 4 thin coats to achieve the opacity of the swatches below, topped with 2 thin coats of G&G's HK Girl. I'm so in love with this beauty!
