SAVVY NATURALISTA Mani Mochis : Review

Hi there, my darlings! So, this Sunday, I rounded off my at-home spa night with something new and wonderful for my poor, acetone-ravaged hands and cuticles. I had been up swatching a few polishes Saturday night and the week before I think I swatched every single day. It was definitely time for a little extra TLC for my hands, beyond my usual cuticle cream and Rejuvacote routine. Now I love a good scrub, both for my face AND body but my poor hands, which see the most activity, usually gets neglected. But a new product has pretty much changed that for the foreseeable future--Savvy Naturalista's Mani Mochis!

A mani what, you say? Here's what these babies do :

What is mani mochi? It’s a mani scrub for your hands, made of a thick paste with lots of salt, sugar, butters and gentle cleansers. No need for messy jars and oily scrubs to get your hands nice and soft. Mani scrub is perfect for all those looking for an alternative to oily messy hand scrubs in a jar.

All I mentioned to Shundara was that I liked floral/fruity scents and she sent  over an assortment to test out for you guys! Let me just tell you how amazing this box smelled when I first opened it up!

Cake Batter Face is a solid handmade mani scrub scented with creamy vanilla frosting over a sweet white cake

This is a big old scub, fully the size of my entire palm. The stem of the pumpkin broke off in transit but the rest of the details held together amazingly well. With Halloween right around the corner, I think these would be great gifts/treats for your teen! Or hey, for yourself!

Love Shack Mani Mochi is a solid handmade mani scrub scented with oranges, pineapples, bananas and coconut.

I think this was my favorite of the bunch, though The Sirens Drink comes a really, really close second. I know it's Fall but this scrub just takes me away to summer and tropical vacations and who doesn't want tropical vacations all year long?!

The sirens song is a solid handmade mani scrub scented with a sweet citrus blend of pineapple, grapefruit and orange.

Another citrusy blend, I loved how refreshing this one smells! Tropical vacations, sure, but more specifically the fruity cocktails on those tropical vacations. Yum!

Now, you may be wondering, how do you use these mochis? Simple instructions are provided on the website and I followed them pretty closely ;

  • Cut your mani scrubs into 2-3 equally sized pieces and then decide which one you wish to use on your hands first.
I cut the smallesy--one of the Love Shack mochis--into 2 and even that was almost too much!

  • After you have gotten your hands wet under the running water, gently rub the mani mochi all over your hands and watch it smear into a wonderful smooth paste all over hands.

Here's how my bit of mochi looked with crumbled up with just a bit of water. As you can see, a little goes a long way here!

  • Once you have exfoliated your hands rinse well, dry and add a light hand cream.
I didn't bother putting on any cream until several hours later, when I was about to go to bed. The mochi is actually quite hydrating and the leftover oils, once you rinse off the scrub, absorb quickly into the skin, leaving it soft, smooth and yes, fragrant!

So there you have it, my darlings! If you would like to pick up one or a few of these mochis for yourself or a loved one , you can find them on Savvy Naturalista's website HERE--prices range from $1.55 to $1.75. Each mochi is approximately 1.00 to 1.20 oz (depending on the shape you choose) and you can get up to 3-4 uses out of each. Even if you use them the recommended twice a week, these are nothing short of a steal! Less than $2 each!
