Hi there, my darlings! It's a beautiful day in NYC and with the official first day of Spring just a couple days away, it's finally beginning to FEEL like Spring around here! *Blissful sigh* Isn't this the perfect time then to share a Spring collection? Bright and early this morning, let's take a look at Smokey Mountain Lacquers' Spring 2016 collection! I think you may just fall in love with quite a few!
Named for the word for fire in Native American, Atsila is a described as a "medium red linear holo." Smooth, easy formula and application--this beauty applied like a dream! The swatches below show 3 thin coats by itself, although you could definitely get away with 2 depending on how thick you paint. Such a gorgeous red!
With flash!
Named for the word for virgin in Native American, Keegsquaw is a described as a "white cream." A little patchy at first, this cream levels out quite nicely and is fully opaque by the second coat. The swatches below show 2 coats, topped with 1 thin coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat to finish the look. Perfect, bright white!
Meaning valley of flowers in Native American, Algoma is a described as a "white crelly filled with yellow and purple hex glitters and green square glitter." I had no issues at all with the formula and application--the glitters come out really easily! The swatches below show 1 generous coat dabbed on top of Keeqsquaw above, topped with 1 generous coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat to finish the look. Such a fun crelly!
Named for the word for lovely in Native American, Mapiya is a described as a "blurple linear holo." Lovely formula and application--this blurple goes on like butter! The swatches below show 3 thin coats by itself, although again you could definitely get away with 2 depending on how thick you paint. One of my faves from this collection!
With flash!
Meaning plucked flower in Native American, Marisi is a described as a "light purple crelly filled with white opal glitter, cotton candy pink dots and micro silver square glitters." This one does need a little patience to apply, just because there's such a profusion of glitters in this baby but the results are quite pretty! The swatches below show 2 coats, topped with 1 coat of Gelous and 2 generous coats of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat to bring it all together. I love the dots in this crelly--so pretty against the purple!
Named for the word for sand in Native American, Noya is a described as a "nude beige cream." Formula is a little on the thicker side so full opacity can be reached quite easily. The swatches below show 2 coats, topped with 1 thin coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat to finish the look. Such a nice Spring nude!
Named for the word for precious in Native American, Tehya is a described as a "turquoise/mint cream." This was a little streaky on that first coat but again, levels out nicely by the second. The swatches below show 2 coats, topped with 1 thin coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat to finish the look. Another instant fave, I love this shade for Spring!
Meaning star dancer in Native American, Namid is a described as a "deep blue jelly filled with blue/gold/green UCC flakies." Absolutely fantastic formula and application--none of the clumping or thickness you encounter with flakies! The swatches below show 3 coats, topped with 1 generous coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat to finish the look. Hands down, my absolute favorite of this collection, I think EVERYBODY needs this beauty in their stash! Just look at those gorgeous flakies!
Mattefied with OPI Matte Finish topcoat!
Which of these are your faves? Will you be adding any of them to your stash tomorrow? I would love to hear from you in the comments section below!
Until next time,
<3

ReplyDeleteAtsila and Mapiya are absolutely stunning, but somehow Namid is my favorite! Lovely swatches, and if I say so your nails are the perfect length.
