At-home Spa Experience with FARMACY Hydrating Coconut Gel mask--Anti-Wrinkle (Rhubarb)

Hi there, my darlings! So, this Sunday, after a couple of days curled up in bed with a fever and aches, I decided to give myself a little at-home spa experience. After doing my hair, I moved on to trying to refresh my poor, tired skin--nothing dulls skin more than a bout of illness, right? My skin and I both needed a bit of pampering and I found that in a soothing mask from Farmacy--their Hydrating Coconut Gel mask.

Curious to know more about Farmacy and their line of skincare? I was, too and here's what the brand claims to be :

Farm-grown, hand-picked botanicals define Farmacy beauty, which fuses age-old wisdom with cutting-edge technologies to create irritant-free bioactive formulations that support the skin’s own renewal and defense cycles.

Powered By Echinacea GreenEnvy™. A unique patent-protected variant of Echinacea Purpurea, GreenEnvyTM contains the highest known concentration of the phytochemical Cichoric Acid, a potent natural antioxidant which helps protect and firm the skin by inhibiting the enzymes that break down collagen.

Cichoric Acid also normalizes the skin pigmentation process to promote a more evenly toned complexion.

I was sent the Anti-Wrinkle (Rhubarb) mask to try and here's a bit about it, courtesy of Sephora :

The Hydrating Coconut Gel Mask helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, leaving skin smoother and younger-looking. The secret is rhubarb extract, which supports the skin’s natural repair and defense processes leaving it better nourished, stronger, smoother and younger-looking. The coconut gel provides intensive hydration and restores the skin’s balance, while the bio-cellulose sheet releases a complex of components to provide the skin’s surface layers with a penetrating surge of active ingredients.

How To Use in 5 easy steps :

1. Clean : Cleanse and tone the skin.

2. Prep : Remove the mask from the sachet and unfold completely. The mask is placed between two sheets of protective mesh. Remove one side.

3. Plant : Now place the exposed mask side on your face and smooth over surface, then remove the other protective mesh.

4. Nurture : Leave the mask on for 20-25 minutes for the best results.

5. Harvest : Remove the mask and gently massage excess formula into the skin.

The pic below, albeit a wee bit scary, is what the mask looks like when placed on the face :

IMPRESSIONS : Masks, cleansers, scrubs--I'm all about renewal and rejuvenation when it comes to my skin. I'm a firm believer that dead skin needs to go in order for fresh, new skin to take its place and India has long believed in the myriad uses of coconut oil. My only issue with coconut oil? It's greasy--this is NOT a fast-absorbing oil. So, naturally I was kind of sceptical about how this mask would work on my combination, often sensitive, acne-prone skin, ESPECIALLY when I opened the packet and saw the amount of liquid the mask was sitting in.

But let me tell you, my fears were totally unfounded! The "liquid" is more of a gel consistency, rather than a thick oil. Once on, the mask feels amazing--SO GOOD. It's cooling and soothing and not the least bit uncomfortable--in fact, I caught myself dozing off a bit during the recommended 25 minute application period. After I took it off and discarded it, I massaged the remaining gel into my face and it absorbed super quickly! Best part? It left my skin feeling so refreshed, soft and all but glowing! I would absolutely try this mask again--actually, I have my eye on  the Brightening mask.

So there you have it, my darlings! If you would like to any of Farmacy's masks, you can find them on Sephora HERE for the price of $24.00 for a three-pack--at $8 a mask, this is a steal!
