EXCLUSIVE interview with Roni of LA BELLA VERNICE

Hi my darlings! If you recall, I've recently reviewed two very pretty polishes from a brand-new indie maker, La Bella Vernice and ever since I heard that she's the busy mom of 4, I was really curious to see what got her into making polish--I mean, it can't be easy with little ones occupying your time to focus on color and finish! But Roni seems to be pulling it off AND she promptly answered these questions for her curious followers! So, read on to see how this supermom pulls it all off!!

1. How did you first get into making polish?
Funny story: It was not all that long ago my friend Katie was involved in a bunch of swap groups on facebook (I was not at the time). I remember thinking she was crazy for spending so much money on her swap sisters! She said, "Oh Roni, It's so much fun!" Now I'm in two regular swap groups and one Birthday Group! I totally get why it's so much fun to spoil your swap sisters (going overboard is my specialty! ;) Once I started swapping, I was introduced to Indie polish. I fell in love! I'm a crafty person by nature, and thought to myself, "I can do this!" For me, making polish is my release. I am a very busy mother of 3 as I homeschool my children. So making polish for me is therapeutic.

2. What was the inspiration for the name "La Bella Vernice"?
The name changed several times! A name is so permanent, it was so hard to choose! I love everything European! I visited Europe two years ago and traveled throughout Germany, Switzerland and France (I would live in Germany if I could!) The one place we didn't make it to was Italy. I am in LOVE with everything Italian! My friend Katie helped me come up with this beautiful name. The name in English is, The Beautiful Paint.

3. What inspires your collections? What inspired your latest collection? Any hints about upcoming collections?
My family inspires my collections, especially my beautiful daughters. My daughter, Jozzalynn (Jozzi Bug) is such a diva, she is always putting in her opinions. A polish from my first collection 'La Bella Ragazze' is named after her. Then, she said we needed a polish named after her favorite princess, Cinderella. So that is how, 'It's a Girls World' was created. I have a secret weapon on it's way! A lot of new and exciting polishes coming to La Bella Vernice!

4. Do you have a favorite indie maker(s)? Favorite mainstream brand?
My favorite Indie maker (so far) is Enchanted. My favorite mainstream brand would have to be Dior, and any Zoya (Pixi Dust).

5. What are your go-to products for nail/cuticle care?
I can't live without my Ciate glass nail file! Being a mother of 3, I have to file on a daily basis. Since I am a HUGE Lush fan, I use Lemony Flutter often as well.

6. What are your favorite colors? In general? For summer? For fall?
I tend to wear a lot of pink all year round. I can also be found wearing black a lot too. I am trying to switch it up a bit with more of a Mediterranean wardrobe this fall. On my nails, I tend to wear pinks, dark reds, and any Zoya Pixi Dust (I'm obsessed.)

7. This may be hard--but which are your 3 favorite creations?
'Cinderella', 'Jozzi Bug' and 'Feeling Shameless'.

8. Do you have any other hobbies?
I am an adrenaline junkie!! I love all roller coasters! I love bunji jumping and will sky dive one day! I am also a big couponer (Hello to my fellow coupon sisters! ;) I used to enjoy scrap-booking , but do not have the time for that as much lately. One thing I enjoy more than anything is shopping! I have an addiction to yoga pants and anything Victoria Secret!

9. What is your most favorite thing about being an indie maker? What do you least like? What advice would you give to new indie makers?
I love the creating! The whole process from searching the web and stores, to the chemistry. I find that so peaceful! (I have put my shopping addiction to good use here ;) I need to get a better ordering system, it was so hard for me to keep track of orders just through pay pal. However, thanks to my husband, I have a website that should make my life a lot easier. My advice would be to take the time to make all your pictures look stunning. I know this can be hard, but it really makes a huge difference. This is something I struggled with (darn iphone anyway.) I continue to find some really neat ways to make photos look better. Try Picasa. It's free to download and works wonders!

Favorite TV show and character : I can't get enough of Chef Ramsey! He is so addicting! I love Hells Kitchen and Master Chef. I watch all his shows, and it's starting to show, last week I had a dream he was my family doctor! LOL, it may be time to find a new favorite character.
If you won a million dollars, first thing you would buy is : If I won a million dollars today, I would buy my dad the family cabin that will be up for sale in the near future.
