SALON PERFECT In Bloom Duo 7 : Swatches, Review and Nail Art

Hi there, my darlings! A couple of  weeks ago, I showed you the press release for the new collections from Salon Perfect HERE, including some of the duo-packs available of the In Bloom collection. Today, I have a review of one of those duo-packs for you, plus a nail art look I created using one of the polishes from the duo and one of Salon Perfect's Nail Art kits. First, let's take a look at swatches of the two polishes in In Bloom Duo 7--Cupcake and Pocketful of Posies.

Cupcake is a medium, petal pink creme. No issues to report with either or application and the swatches below show 3 thin coats by itself.

Pocketful of Posies is a pale, pale pink creme. The formula of this polish is a little on the thinner side and 3 coats, as shown below, is needed for full opacity.

Alrighty, now let's take a look at the simple nail art look I created using Pocketful of Posies and one of the glitter pots in Salon Perfect's Back to Black Nail Art kit!

The Back to Black kit is a handy little nail art kit that contains 4 glitter pots in various shades of black and in various sizes of glitter, 1 mini top coat and a little brush. Perfect for a newbie to doing a little bit of experimenting!

For the nail art look I created, I used the glitter pot shown below and the mini topcoat. The glitter in this pot is somewhat iridescent, flashing bright blue in certain angles of light!

This nail art look, show below, was fairly simple to create, albeit a little messy. After I applied 3 coats of Pocketful of Posies, I allowed the polish to semi-dry, i.e, until it was still tacky to the touch. Then I simply dipped the tips of my nails into the pot and tapped off any excess glitter on a sheet of paper. I finished with by applying one thin coat of the top coat--merely brushing the top coat on was enough to create the little bit of a gradient effect you see going on. Finally, I washed my hands well with soap and warm water and voila! Nail art in a jiffy!

So there you have it, my darlings! Stay tuned for a couple of more Salon Perfect duos and some of the nail art looks I created with them! The Salon Perfect Bloom in Color collection launched on May 1st at select Walmart stores nationwide as part of a limited edition promotional display. The 2-packs of polish, 3-packs of nail art liners, and Nail Art Kits will each retail for $4.98--what a great deal!
