SALON PERFECT Neon Pop Duo : Swatches, Review and Nail Art

Hi there, my darlings! If you recall, a couple of  weeks ago, I showed you the press release for the new collections from Salon Perfect HERE, which included a few neon duo-packs. Today, I have a review of one of those duo-packs for you, plus a nail art look I created using both of these polishes plus Cupcake from the In Bloom duo I showed you HERE. First, let's take a look at swatches of the two polishes in this NEONPOP duo--Summer Escape and Haute Pink.

Summer Escape is a shockingly bright, neon orange creme that dries to a semi-matte finish. If you can believe it this polish was even brighter in person! A fabulous neon with a great self-leveling formula--the swatches show 3 smooth coats, topped with 1 thin coat of G&G's HK Girl. The first coat was a little streaky but by the third coat, the polish was perfectly smooth and opaque. What a great shade for the summer!

Haute Pink Summer Escape is a searingly bright, neon pink creme that dries to a semi-matte finish. Again, the formula was similar to Summer Escape above and the swatches show 3 smooth coats, topped with 1 thin coat of G&G's HK Girl. This shade was so bright that my cameras, yes that's right, BOTH my point-and-shoot AND my cell phone totally flipped out--they were just like um...yeah...NOPE! But, trust me, this is a GORGEOUS neon!

Now, on to the nail art! Guess what? I created my very first gradient and then subsequently painted on a sunset beach scene! Here are the materials I used :

--Salon Perfect neon polish in Summer Escape

--Salon Perfect neon polish in Haute Pink

--Salon Perfect In Bloom shade in Cupcake

--Sally Hansen Triple Shine polish in Sparkling Water

--Salon Perfect basic stripers trio in black, white and silver

--Cosmetic sponge

I just basically painted 3 stripes of the three Salon Perfect shades on a cosmetic sponge and dabbed them on my nail, blending them and blurring the lines in between. Then I used a diagonal stripe of Sally Hansen's Sparkling Water to create the look of the ocean. Finally, I used the black striper to create the palm trees and birds; the white striper to make some clouds; and, the silver striper to add sparkle to the ocean body. I like how this turned out but I definitely need more practice! Lol!

So there you have it, my darlings! Stay tuned for one more Salon Perfect duo with another sexy nail art looksI created with them! The Salon Perfect Bloom in Color collection launched on May 1st at select Walmart stores nationwide as part of a limited edition promotional display. The 2-packs of polish, 3-packs of nail art liners, and Nail Art Kits will each retail for $4.98--check your nearest retailer!
