FAIR MAIDEN POLISH Pack Your Bags (Effects) collection : Swatches and Review

Hi there, my darlings! When you love indie polish as much as I do, you tend to watch newer brands because who knows which one's going to be the next big thing, right? So, when Fair Maiden Polish launched last year, my eyes literally lit up with their first collection--I had a feeling this one would be a winner of a brand! I hadn't had a chance to pick any up from the brand, just because I've been swatching so rigorously lately and only got to try one through The Holo Hookup box for March 2016 (review HERE). I was really impressed with the formula of that beautiful polish so when Adrienne and Sarah of  Fair Maiden Polish reached out recently with the opportunity to swatch for them, you know I jumped aboard! And today's post, which I think you guys will love, was born!

The Pack Your Bags collection for Spring 2016 is a large 16-piece collection, comprised of 8 cremes and 8 coordinating polishes in finishes that they have dubbed the Effects--holos, shimmers, etc. Today, I'd like to share my swatches of the Effects collection, denoted with (E) whereas the cremes would be denoted with a (C) on the site. Before we get to swatches, let's talk quickly about the formula and application of these polishes. Across the board, each applied beautifully and was usually opaque in just 2 easy coats--I added a third coat in most cases for added depth and vibrancy. Unless specifically mentioned, the swatches below show 3 thin coats topped with 1 easy coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat to finish the look! With that out of the way, time for swatches!

Bisous (E) is described as a "pistachio green “crelly,” packed with various glitters". This is such a wearable crelly--the little glitters lie flat, making for a beautiful, smooth mani and the result is a pretty look that is perfect for Spring!

Fiesta...Siesta (E) is described as a "vibrant yellow linear holo, packed with a lemony bright shimmer". The swatches below are just 3 thin coats by itself. Gorgeous, fun polish and this coming from a girl who really doesn't do yellows!

With flash!

Good Eye Might (E) is described as a "medium turquoise holo with sea-green sparkle and color shifting flake". This...this is such a stunning polish, that I knew even before I swatched it that I would fall in love with it and I did...hard!

With flash!

Moon Over Morocco (E) is described as a "medium orchid purple linear holo with various holo pigments throughout". The pops of added holo in this beauty are to die for!

With flash!

Pearl of Siberia (E) is described as a "taupe hued gray, linear holo, sprinkled with iridescent glitters throughout". Now, grays usually don't do it for me but this one is a rare exception--I absolutely love this one! There's this pink/violet shimmer to this that is so captivating!

With flash!

Rio Carnival (E) is described as a "dusty coral, linear holo, with red gold micro flake and sparks of holo pigment throughout". As soon as the temperatures start rising, I find myself reaching for corals and I know this one is going to be a staple really soon!

With flash!

Sakura Blossom (E) is described as a "soft pale pink finished with rose pearl sparkle and color shifting chameleon flakes". A pretty, delicate pink that would look lovely on fair skin!

Mattefied with OPI Matte Finish topcoat!

Santorini Bikini (E) is described as a "medium orchid purple. Linear holo with various holo pigments throughout". Richly pigmented and fully opaque in 2 coats, I was worried for a minute that this might stain but I'm so happy to report that I experienced absolutely none! I saved this one to swatch last because I knew I wouldn't be able to bear taking it off! So gorgeous!
