Hi there, my darlings! Just as I predicted, this has been a rough week! The first week back after Spring break and it's SO gloomy in NYC, with periods of rain. You can probably imagine that my energy level is at an all-time low! I mean, I've barely wanted to write stuff up or take photos for upcoming posts because...well, because I just want to curl up and nap instead. So, while I am trying to push myself to get as much done as I can after work, a lot of things are kinda being pushed to the side. Nail art? Not right now. That much-needed pedicure? Um, maybe next week. Washing my hair more than a couple of times during the week? Nope! With the way I'm feeling, I'm glad I've been able to fall back on a few products from Revivogen PRO that I've been testing--a couple of these are pretty much life-savers at this point and are definite pick-me-ups for a challenging week!
Exfoliating Scalp Cleanser for Fine or Thinning Hair ($39.00 for 4 fl. oz) : Create an ideal environment for new hair growth with this exfoliating scalp cleanser formulated to remove dead skin cells, energize hair follicles and boost circulation. The scalp is left clean, invigorated and primed for increased absorption of Scalp Therapy.
- Unique exfoliating foam for deep cleansing of scalp
- Removes dead skill cells, sebum, and product buildup
- Energizes scalp follicles
DIRECTIONS: The Revivogen PRO Exfoliating Scalp Cleanser is an amazing deep cleanser. Start by parting the hair and spraying the gel from the back to the front. After a few minutes the bubbling subsides and you can shampoo and condition. Use this treatment once or twice per week.
This in-shower treatment was the one I was most excited about but I have to admit right off the bat, it didn't work for me as well as I would have liked. My scalp does tend to get very greasy and itchy a couple of days after washing my hair and I have to use a good anti-itch/dandruff shampoo to get my scalp feeling normal. Whether it be the pollution in the city or just my hair's propensity to get oily at the crown, my scalp needs extra care. I was hoping that this cleanser would clear my scalp of all the build-up and leave it feeling clean and itch-free. But, honestly, I found it a little difficult to use. The nozzle was quite difficult to press down and the foaming cleanser seemed a little too thin to really cover my entire scalp, even when I parted my hair and applied several times. Now, I do have pretty thick hair so that may have been a factor but even after waiting 5 minutes before rinsing, my scalp still felt itchy and I had to use my regular shampoo. In conclusion, I think it may work better for those of you out there with finer hair.
VOLUMIZING HAIR MASK for Fine or Thinning Hair ($35.00 for 7 fl. oz) : Treat lifeless, dehydrated hair to this intensive antioxidant rich hair mask formulated to repair and rejuvenate lack lustre locks. Hair lifts with bounce and shine, becoming dramatically full and voluminous.
- Intensive antioxidant rich hair mask
- Treats lifeless, dehydrated hair
- Repairs and rejuvenates lackluster locks
- Dramatically healthier, fuller and voluminous.
DIRECTIONS: Revivogen PRO Volumizing Hair Mask can be used once or twice per week to hydrate and repair damage. Apply it just like a conditioner and massage into your hair. Massage and comb through with your fingers or a wide tooth comb. Leave it on a little longer than conditioner so that the moisturizing and repairing ingredient have time to work. 5 minutes or longer is sufficient. Then rinse thoroughly.
I love a good hair mask and this one is a FABULOUS one! Rich and luxurious, the first thing I noticed about it when I opened it was how GOOD it smelled! It is scented with a luscious floral bouquet which isn't overwhelming or overpowering at all. It just made me want to dig my hands into it right away! After masssaging the mask into my hair, concentrating on my ends which tend to get the most damaged, I just gathered my hair into a loose bun and got shaving my legs out of the way. I'll tell you a secret--I often use conditioner instead of a shaving cream just because I appreciate a multi-tasking product and I used a little bit of this on my legs and pits while I was shaving. Now, I know what you're thinking--this stuff is expensive! Yes it is but a little goes a long way when you're shaving and this giant tub is going to last me awhile, so I indulged. Not only did this leave my hair looking full and nourished, with just the right amount of volume without excess frizz but my hair smelled wonderful for days! As for my skin, I didn't have to bother with lotion after shaving! Win-win!
DRY SHAMPOO for Fine or Thinning Hair ($22.00 for 7 fl. oz) : Natural botanicals and oil absorbing ingredients effortlessly cleanse the hair and scalp without leaving behind residue. This easy-to-use spray absorbs odor, sebum and oil. Use as often as needed to add volume and to achieve a fresh, build-up free feeling without washing.
- For days you can’t shampoo & condition
- Natural oil absorbing ingredients add volume
- Clean scent refreshes the hair
- Spray as often as needed to add volume without washing.
DIRECTIONS: To use the Revivogen PRO Dry Shampoo, simply lift the hair and spray the front of the scalp. Then separate the hair where you normally have your part and spray closest to the scalp. Rub the hair and then brush through to distribute the micro fine powder. It’s that easy.
Dry shampoo is my BFF but just like BFFs, a good one is SO darn hard to find. At least, a good one that works for my finicky, combination hair. But this one is a GOOD one! It does the job and does it well. I just spray it on my roots. wait a few 30 seconds as instructed, and run my fingers through my hair. No stickiness and no weird, white residue! With this, I can easily extend the onerous job of washing my waist-length for at least a couple of more days. And, my hair smells good, which you already know a very important to me. So worth the price!
