THE HOLO HOOKUP collaboration box for December 2015 : Swatches and Review

Hi there, my darlings! This afternoon, I'd like to share the next installment of The Holo Hookup collaboration box featuring Jill of Glisten & Glow, Missi of Different Dimension and Sara of Cupcake Polish. In case you missed it, the all-holo debut box premiered for November 2015 and each moth will have a holographic creation from each of the three makers plus one from a special guest maker. December's guest maker is the wonderful Shannon of Pahlish and this box has the theme : Natural Phenomena. Take a quick peek at the collage of images the makers drew inspiration from :

Now when you see an inspiration photo that magnificent, is it any wonder that the polishes themselves are to die for? I mean, these ladies are really, really, REALLY good at what they do! With that said, let's get started--I'll show you each maker's individual inspiration pic followed closely by the polish she created.

Jill of Glisten & Glow's inspiration pic :

Ball Lightning from Glisten & Glow is a rich, deep purple linear holographic polish with added pink and purple flakies and shimmers and a blue undertone. Perfect application and formula--the swatches below show just 2 coats topped with 1 thin coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat. I love, love, LOVE this shade of purple and the flakies add another level of awesome to it!

Missi of Different Dimension's inspiration pic :

Bioluminescent Bay from Different Dimension is a stunning glow-in-the-dark sky blue microglitter in a linear holo base with added shimmers. Fantastic application and formula--I was so impressed with how smoothly this baby glided on! Although the swatches below show 2 easy coats topped with 1 generous coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat, I bet you could totally get away with 1 thick coat of this one! Not only is this a gorgeous shade of blue but wait til you see the glow-in-the-dark effect!

Volcanic Lightning from Cupcake Polish is a bright red linear holographic polish with added purple shimmers. Lovely application and formula--the swatches below show 2 easy coats topped with 1 thin coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat. This, for me at least, is the perfect Holiday red!

Shannon of Pahlish's inspiration pic :

Chasing Northern Lights from Pahlish is a taupe linear holographic polish with a subtle green shift. Fabulous application and formula--I was taken completely by surprise by the easy opacity of this one! The swatches below show just 2 thin coats topped with 1 thin coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat--duochromes and metallics can often be tricky to apply but this one posed no such problem! I love the shiftiness of this polish as seen in the pics below!

To show the color shift close-up, I used the "water-droplet trick" ;
