LIME CRIME Venus The Grunge palette : Swatches and Review

Hi there, my darlings! Can you believe it's already mid-November?! It feels like just yesterday U came back from my 2-month long summer break! And now, here we are. fast approaching December and with it, the holidays! Have you gotten a start on your shopping? No? Well, you're not alone but today, I'd like to share a beautiful palette from Lime Crime that just might be perfect for the beauty lover in your life!

Here's a little about this palette :

  • In a sea of nude palettes, VENUS emerges with 8 game-changing, unconventional newtrals and rusty-reds
  • Full-sized, recklessly pigmented eyeshadows mesh flawlessly for a nu-grunge look with a soft, painterly finish.
  • Beautiful mirrored box with kitschy artwork makes this palette the ultimate collectible artifact!
  • Mash Botticelli's classical painting with the rebellion of the early 90s, and you get VENUS: The Grunge Palette.

IMPRESSIONS : I'm going to be the first to admit that surprisingly, I don't have very many Lime Crime products in my stash--I think a lipstick or two but definitely no eyeshadows! Gasp! I don't know how this happened because I thought I had pretty much tried them all when it came to big beauty brands! But better late than never, I guess.

Before I show you swatches of this fabulous little palette, let's take a minute to talk about the packaging. Lime Crime, as I've seen on Instagram and social media, is known for bright, bold, eye-catching packaging and super-pigmented shades. This paletteis certainly no different! Packaged in beautiful, rich aqua blue tones and lush gold, it's a treat to unwrap!

FROM LEFT TO RIGHT : Venus, Shell, Aura, Creation, Don, Rebirth, Divine and Muse.

As for the shades, they're mainly rich, warm shades that are perfect for the Fall--these are the sassier, sexier cousins of the traditional neutral palettes. Six of the eight shades are mattes, with Shell and Aura bringing in a hint of shimmer. These are pretty well-pigmented shades and you only need a little for full coverage--the swatches below are just a couple of swipes with an applicator. I did experience a bit of fall-out with the matte shades but nothing that a good primer and some good wipes shouldn't fix.

My personal faves? Shell and Muse stole my heart! I can't wait to try a smokey eye with these two!

LEFT; TOP TO BOTTOM : Venus, Aura,  Don,  Divine  RIGHT; TOP TO BOTTOM : Shell, Creation, Rebirth, Divine, Muse.

So there you have it, my darlings! If you would like to pick up Lime Crime's Venus the Grunge palette for yourself or a loved one this holiday season, you can find it on AMAZON HERE for the price of $38.00!

  1. I don't own Lime Crime. I was influenced against the brand when they started and there was a big fiasco. Since then I've seen they've cleaned up their act though. These colors look great on your skintone although I know they wouldn't work on me.

  2. Great swatches. I'm personally not a fan of Lime Crime becaue of all their drama, the credit card fraud, harassing bloggers and stealing images from bloggers.
