A selection of GRIM AND GLAMOROUS : Swatches and Review

Hi there, my darlings! Bright and early this morning and as always as part of our featured event, I'd like to share with you my review of a few products from Grim and Glamorous--now, Suzzie not only sent me three polishes from her Fall/Halloween collection but a couple of nail care products too! But let's talk about the polishes first, shall we?!

Before we get to swatches, let's take a quick minute to discuss the formula and application of the three polishes she sent me. Across the board, I had no major complaints to report with the formula or application--for the most part, despite having a lot going on with them, they went on pretty easily. Unless specifically mentioned, the swatches below show 2 thin coats of each polish, topped with 1 generous coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat to bring it all together. With that said, on to swatches!

Harvest Hottie is described as a "sparkly, burnt orange, metallic, micro flake polish, with a slight shifting flash that can catch various fall colors ranging from a golden yellow, to burgundy, to pink, filled with metallic orange hex and metallic brown micro glitters". A lot going on with this polish but it applies surprisingly smoothly!

Zombae is described as a "neon green polish, with a shifty green to pink shimmer, filled with matte neon yellow, green, and pink glitters". This one was a tad trickier to apply since the matte glitters had a tendency to cluster together but a good matte basecoat should help immensely!

Wicked Witch is described as a "neon purple polish, filled with shifty blue to green shimmer, and matte black shards". My favorite of the three, the shimmer in this one is out of this world!

Besides the polish, Suzzie also included a mini of her Ultra Nourishing Skin and Nail Oil. Here's a little description of her oil :

Some featured benefits:
  • Jojoba and Vitamin E Oils are great for restoring a healthy balance of moisture to the nails and cuticles. This can be very helpful to those suffering with dry, brittle nails and cuticles, and/or hangnails.
  • Shea Butter is high in fatty acids and vitamins to deeply moisturize and heal dry skin.
  • Argan Oil is a rare oil, also high in Vitamin E, that works wonders to soften and renew the skin.

As you can see below, I decided to give it a try after a long night of swatching when my nails and cuticles were feeling a little rough, to say the least!

Use: Brush under free edge, on, and around the nails and cuticles at least twice a day to improve nail strength and flexibility, and to maintain moisture at the cuticles. Best if used multiple times a day, especially after hand washing, cleaning, circumstances where the hands/nails are exposed to extreme wet or dry conditions, and in harsh winter weather. Massage in, and allow remaining oil to be absorbed into the skin. Can be used on bare or polished nails.

I actually really liked this cuticle oil! Although technically unscented, the natural oils give a pleasing scent that I liked quite a bit. The addition of argan oil, although fantastic for the skin, means that this oil is probably not as fast-absorbing as some others on the market but it's so great for you skin! That combined with Jojoba oil and Vitamin E makes for a wonderfully nourishing combination for the skin, just like the name suggests.

Last but definitely not the least, Suzzie also included two little intriguing ziplock pouches in the package and inside were what was labeled as "Fizzy Powder". I'll be the first to admit that I haven't dabbled much in the area of fizzy bombs and mani fizzies and such. Why? Your guess is as good as mine! I feel like I've been living under a rock! This stuff is amazing! Not only is it super fun to watch (you can check out a short video HERE) but the oils, similar to the ones in the cuticle oil, make for a rich and luxurious soak fro your hands when added to warm water. And let me not even get started on the scents! Right off the bat, the fruity/floral Crisp Apple Rose stole my heart but for all you spicy Fall scent lovers, Arabian Spice is a winner! If you take nothing else away from this post, pick up one or a few of the fizzy powders! You can thank me later! ;)

So there you have it, my darlings! These and many of Grim and Glamorous' latest creations can be found HERE--prices vary depending on the polish. You can find Suzzie on FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM--check her out!

Which of these is intrigues YOU the most? As always, I'd love to hear from you in the comments section below!

Until next time,
<3
