NYC City Samba (partial collection) : Swatches, Review and Nail Art

Hi there, my darlings! Remember when I showed you the press release for NYC and their City Samba collection for Summer 2014 all the way back in June?! Wellll...since life in India got crazy busy (and you'll hear this a LOT as I continue posting summer collections), I didn't have a chance to post this. But since it's an unseasonably warm 71 degrees in New York City, I figure it's as good a time as any!

Amazon Green is a minty green with a frosty finish. The formula of this, being a frost, tended to be a little streaky on the first coat but after the third coat, the polish leveled itself out and dried evenly. The swatches below show 3 thin coats. Even though I'm not a fan of greens, I found this one to be quite pretty!

Cobanana is a bright yellow creme. No complaints with formula or application and the swatches below show 3 thin coats. A great eye-catching yellow!

Now, since both these colors were so eye-catching, I decided to do a little nail art with them, along with a couple of other necessary tools. Take a peek at what I used :

--NYC polishes in Amazon Green and Copabanana

--NYC stripers in hot pink and silver

--Dotting tool

--Thin detail brush

Here are the results--a free-hand floral look that's super-bright and super-easy :

So there you have it, my darlings! NYC New York Color products are available at chain drugstores and mass merchandisers nationwide, such as Rite Aid and CVS, starting from June – September 2014. To find a retailer near you, please visit NYC's website HERE.

What do you think of this nail art look? Pretty in an abstract way? Or not to your liking? Tell me in the comments section below!

Until next time,
