A Rhyming Dictionary : Swatches and Review (PIC HEAVY)

Hi there!! So I managed to catch a cold somehow and the latest storm made a mess of the roads around my house which meant enforced snow day for me today. Sigh. Normally, I love snow days but today the whole mess was just a bit annoying! Anyways, to cheer me up, I'm going to post a review of a brand that is very close to my heart--A Rhyming Dictionary!

A Rhyming Dictionary is owned and operated by a lady who I absolutely adore--Morgan and I became friends through a nail polish interest group on Facebook just for those of us addicts on the East Coast. How can I describe Morgan to you? I'm going to try--she's funny and quirky and always manages to put a positive spin on things, no matter how bleak they look! She never fails to make me smile and she's super supportive of not only the blog but of me, if I'm ever having a bad day. Let's just say I really love this girl and it was an absolute honor when she asked me to review some of her polishes!

Today, I'm going to show you 5 polishes that are currently available in her Etsy store plus one more than I bought myself because it's just utterly gorgeous! Ready for some swatches? =)

First, I have for you Gig--a pretty coral pink with a light holographic sparkle through the polish! Both the application and formula of this was just lovely--smooth and easy. The swatches below show 2 easy coats with 1 thin coat of G&G's HK Girl for added shine! This is such a pretty polish and makes me yearn for Spring!

Next up, I have for you The Wise Donkey--a white crelly packed full of purple, holographic purple and silver shards! The formula of this polish was just the right consistency--not to thick and not too runny. Application, though, does need a little bit of care--the shards have a tendency to bunch together and it's best to wait til one coat is COMPLETELY dry before applying the next. The swatches below show 2 easy coats with 1 generous coat of G&G's HK Girl to bring it all together. This is such an unique polish--I've seen and review plenty of white crellies but never with shards! I'm really liking the finished look!

The third polish I have for you is Tollydiggle--a clear-based polish full of gold and charcoal flakies! No issues at all with formula or application and the swatches below show 2 thin coats over 2 coats of Zoya Sailor with 1 thin coat of G&G's HK Girl to finish the look. I love the way this turned out and how the charcoal flakies flash blue at certain angles!

Next, I have one of my personal favorites, hats--a clear glitter topcoat with light blue holographic hexes and squares, aqua blue matte hexes and periwinkle matte hexes, all accented with small and medium black hexes and added blue and holographic shimmer! Again, no issues to report with formula or application and the swatches below show 2 thin coats over 2 coats of Sheswai WineSnob with 1 generous coat of G&G's HK Girl to bring it all together. I adore how this look turned out--a vampy base perfect for winter but with the pop of color to brighten up a gloomy day!

Next, I have my absolute favorite of the bunch, Magic Muffins--a beautiful rich, dark purple with lots of holographic sparkle. Both application and formula was fabulous, no complaints at all! The swatches below show 2 coats with 1 thin coat of G&G's HK Girl for added shine. I love, love, LOVE this polish but sadly it's discontinued--do check out it's sister polish Dark Well if you love this as much as I do!

Last but defnitely not the least, I have for you Pander to a Crowd--a clear glitter topcoat full of red, orange and pink glitters in various shapes and sizes. The shop description specifies "magenta holo hexes, pink circles, red hexes, matte pink shards, tiny pink bars, orange holo hexes, pink holo hearts, and tiny red matte hexes"--it's quite the glitterbomb! Again, great application and formula--I didn't have to fish for anything! The swatches below show 2 thin coats over 2 coats of Magic Muffins with 1 generous coat of G&G's HK Girl to finish the look. So pretty! The combination of purple and red/orange/pink is so eye-catching, don't you think?
