ORLY Sunset Strip collection for Holiday 2016 : Swatches and Review

Hi there, my darlings! So, I refuse to believe that Fall is almost over...even though the weather seems to have its own plan. It sure is getting colder! I'm hoping Fall and its beautiful weather will stick around for awhile longer but it's time to share my first Holiday post! The only thing that I'm looking forward to in the colder months is the Holidays--Christmas, Hanukkah and yes, New Year! I can't wait for 2016 to finally be over! So, in anticipation of that, let's take a look at an unconventional collection of six polishes from Orly for the Holiday 2016 season--if you love non-traditional shades, you're gonna love the Sunset Strip collection.

Celebrity Spotting is a dark lavender purple with coppery-gold shimmer. Smooth, easy formula and application--the swatches below show 2 easy coats topped with 1 thin coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat. I love both the shimmer and this shade of purple!

Mattefied!

Invite Only is a rich forest green creme. This formula was more of a crelly or even a jelly than a traditional creme so application was super easy--the swatches below show 2 coats topped with 1 thin coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat. In hindsight, maybe even a third coat might have been good for more depth and opacity. If you love greens, you'll love this rich shade!

Last Call is a magenta/hot pink with a stunning blue-tinted shimmer. This polish is quite sheer at first but very easily buidable--the swatches below show 3 thin coats topped with 1 thin coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat. A hot pink in the Winter?! Why not! Especially when you look at that shimmer!

Sunset Blvd is bright red with tons of gold glitter. This glitter is more of a jelly glitter so application is a breeze--the swatches below show 3 easy coats topped with 1 thin coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat. Even with 3 thin coats, you do see a little visible nail line. But you can always throw it over your favorite red creme if VNL bothers you. Personally, the gorgeous glitter and the beautiful, bright red is all I see!

Mattefied!

The Who's Who is a richly pigmented blue. Another crelly/jelly rather than a true crelly, this applies quite nicely and builds up to full opacity in 3 thin coats--the swatches below show 3 thin coats topped with 1 thin coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat. One of my faves in this collection, I love the vibrancy of this color!

Up All Night is a steely gray with silver and a tiny hint of blue shimmer. Smooth, easy formula and application--the swatches below show 2 easy coats topped with 1 thin coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat. This is a perfect Winter gray!

  1. Celebrity Spotting is everything! I love it with the matte and shiny. That's the one I'll seek out.

  3. I love the entire collection (though not the matte version, just my preference)! Invite Only is probably my fave because I'm a green fiend but they're all amazing
