My faves from SALLY HANSEN ROYAL SPLENDOR MIRACLE GEL™ collection : Swatches and Review

Hi there, my darlings! Summer is in full swing in NYC and by that I mean temperatures are in the 90s! Sheesh! For those of you out there who like it hot and are off to the beach/barbeque/the great outdoors, this post is for you! Do you need a mani that's going to last for a bit while you're out and about? Well then, Sally Hansen's new MIRACLE GEL™ Royal Splendor collection just might do the trick!


A little about the collection, first :

When applied over the Miracle Gel™ shades, the Miracle Gel™ Top Coat volumizes as it protects – more chip-resistant than regular nail polish! Once applied, this gel top coat provides a high-gloss finish and mirror shine. The result: The look of a gel manicure at home, without the trip to a salon! Miracle Gel's two-step application is super-simple. First, apply two thin coats of Miracle Gel™ color to clean, bare nails. Then, apply one coat of the Miracle Gel™ Top Coat. Natural light cures the polish, yielding a manicure that resembles a UV / LED cured gel polish. It removes easily with regular nail polish remover.

For this post, I chose 3 of my favorite shades from this collection, all in Sally Hansen's signature MIRACLE GEL™ formula. I absolutely loved the formula of these three polishes--they are formulated such that they apply almost like a jelly or crelly. They went on oh-so-smoothly and dried really quickly. Yes, they are a bit sheer and I felt needed the 3 thin coats I applied for full opacity but application was such a breeze, I didn't mind that at all! Unless mentioned specifically below, the swatches below show 3 thin coats of each polish, topped with 1 generous coat of their 2X Volume topcoat to finish the look. With all that said, on to swatches!

Mauve-olous is described as "beige-tinged medium-pink tone." Now, this is a nude that I totally love--the warm pink tone is so flattering and doesn't wash out or blend in with my complexion like some other nudes out there!

Off With Her Red! is described as "vibrant, true red." I went with only 2 coats of this juicy, bright red and I absolutely love how it looks!

Can't Beet Royalty is described as "rich maroon." Who says you can't rock a sexy, vampy shade in the summer?! Tell them to shush with this showstopper!
