5 NAIL CARE PRODUCTS THAT HAVE CHANGED THE GAME FOR ME!

Hi there, my darlings! By the time you guys read this post, I'll be out and about for a much-needed day in the city. I have some (really important) errands to run and then I get to meet up with some of my favorite people for lunch. I've been a bit of a hermit for the past couple of weeks as I learned to adjust to not going into work every day and instead waking up when I want, only to...job search. It's been...different. I've always wanted to be a stay-at-home blogger but when faced with the reality of it, it takes some getting used to. Now, fair warning, I *might* be going on a bit of a hiatus in a few weeks--for just how long, I'm not sure. Some major changes are on the horizon for me and while I figure out my life (sigh), I hope you all stick with me! Whenever I can, I'll be posting, sharing, popping up on social media. It may be more erratic than we're both used to but I'm sure this too shall pass. But before we get there, I'll be sharing lots of stuff--some sent for review, others I've bought myself. Let's start off today with 5 nail care products that have changed the game for me, at the very least making swatching that much easier. Ready?

GLASS NAIL FILE from EAT. SLEEP. POLISH (currently sold out)

Eat.Sleep.Polish. doesn't settle for anything less than the best, with that being said, we bring to you not only beautiful, but also high quality nail files. Once you try these files you will never go back to a regular file again!

These stunning nail files are durable and will last for years with proper care. Each file contains a luxurious genuine hand placed Swarovski crystal. The grit will not rub off with use, and is delicate yet effective in filing down length. Glass files are the key to sealing the nail, to prevent splitting nails.

That second line in the description pretty much sums up how I feel about this file! Now, in the course of 3 years of pretty extensive swatching, I've tried a bunch of glass nail files. They have never worked for me. Either they just didn't give me the sharp edges that I like or they broke mid-file or they just were too bulky to use. Not this one! It's light, portable yet sturdy and easy to clean--you can wash it with soap and water and it will be as good as new! And my free edges have never looked better!

When these come back in stock, grab one...or five! I know she's in Canada but these are worth it!

MATTE CUTICLE BALM from BARONESS X ($9.50 for 20 oz tub)

A lot of research and test batches have went into creating this Baroness X Matte Balm (or as some call it Swatcher's Balm). If you are looking for a hydrating, low sheen balm then this is the product you've been waiting for. Removing your polish with acetone can leave your fingers ashen and your cuticles dryer than ever. We all want to moisturize post mani but leave the oils and shiny things for repair and overnight wear. During the day and for photos you want something that looks and feels a little more natural. That's where this balm comes in! It absorbs quickly and leaves a powdery yet smooth feeling behind.

As all Baroness X products, this balm is cruelty-free. It's also free of common allergens. FYI for vegans that may or may not use beeswax, it does contain beeswax.

There are balms and then there's this! My skin gets really visibly ashy the second a drop of acetone touches it but then when I oil up or moisturize, the camera picks up a glaring sheen. I can't tell you how frustrating it was! Until this baby! It's fast-absorbing and really light. It's not COMPLETELY matte on me and I do have to wipe off the excess before I take pictures (and this could possibly be because I don't wait even the couple of minutes that this would need to absorb completely cos hey, I'm swatching!) but this is one of the best things to ever happen to my swatching life! If you don't like the feeling that some oils/balms leave behind or are just as impatient as me, give this one a whirl!

GLITTER BE GONE from DAINTY DIGITS POLISH (ON SALE for $3.00 for a full-size bottle)

Sick of glitter removal problems?! Wanna know how you can pop off whole, glitter applications? It's easier than you think! Feel free to grab a 13mL bottle of "Glitter Be Gone". My conconction dries fast and you can easily peel off the glitter when you're ready. I'm not the originator of POBCs, but I tweaked my formula just a little. Use 2 coats for best results.

Ah glitter! So pretty but such a pain in the butt! ESPECIALLY when you're swatching an entire collection of them in one night! Now, I've made a DIY glitter peel off base coat and it works fine but I wanted something even better, easier. There are so many on the market that I was pretty confused as to which one to buy, when along came NeNe. She graciously sent me one to review when we did our indie feature series and man! This stuff is magic! Just take a look! And the price is unbeatable!

COMPLETE-CARE 7-in-1 TREATMENT from SALLY HANSEN ($12.99 for a full-size bottle)

Whether your nail problem is dryness, ridges, dullness, breakage, peeling, or all of the above, Sally Hansen presents the solution: new Complete Care 7-in-1 Nail Treatment. This product helps restore dry, brittle nails making them visibly healthier and beautiful. After just 3 days, nails look shinier, stronger, mega-moisturized and brighter with ridges filled. The exclusive patented formula, with Avocado Oil, Sea Salt, Pomegranate Extract and Calcium, immediately protects and continuously nourishes nails, helping create the perfect foundation for any manicure. The product features a new brush for an even application and dries quickly to a smooth, hard finish. This versatile treatment can be used alone or with your favorite Sally Hansen nail color when applied as a base coat or as a protective top coat. To wear it alone, simply apply two coats to clean, dry, bare nails. Use it to refresh a manicure by brushing on one thin coat to nails. It goes on smoothly and evenly, for a streak-free application.

I've been a BIG fan of Duri Rejuvacote for a long time--it really helps me grow out my nails. But, Rejuvacote has some serious drawbacks for me too, namely that it makes my nails really brittle and prone to cracking or peeling. Not fun, especially when, at the end of a long night of swatching, you don't have the energy for a full mani but just want to apply something to soothe and protect your nails. This is absolutely fabulous for that! It's much more hydrating and my nails don't peel or crack as much when I'm using it. It's not great for growth, or at least, I didn't notice any real results but as a treatment or just as a protective basecoat, it's a complete winner! Plus, the light pink tint to it gives your nails a healthy sheen to it which I quite love!

CUTICLE OIL in CITRUS SPLASH from EVER AFTER POLISH ($5.00 for a 8 mL roller ball)

It's finally here! We now have a cuticle oil to be used with the cuticle cruelly. Apply the oil to skin first then lock it in with the cuticle crelly.

Amazingly light yet nourishing with a proprietary blend of Grapeseed, Jojoba, Avocado and Sweet Almond oil. Currently available in 2 delicious scents and 2 convenient sizes.

Now, I know you have heard me rave about the crellies (you haven't? well check that out HERE and HERE) but the cuticle oil is new to me! I use it when I've really outdone myself swatching and my cuticles are all but dead. A little TLC with the oil, followed by a crelly in one of my favorite scents and they come back to life pretty quickly. Available in a HUGE range of fragrances, I bet you'll find one...or 13 to fall in love with!

So there you have it, my darlings! 5 game changers that I've fall in love with!
