Stronger Hair with HASK Bamboo Oil Nourishing Hair Care Collection!

Hi there, my darlings! One of my favorite things about writing this blog is that I discover new things on an almost daily basis and I, then, have the privilege of sharing that with you! A scientist at heart, with a passion for all things beauty-related, I love when brands rely on science to create a better product and the brand's claims on why the product works makes sense. Today, you'll see what I mean when we talk about Hask's Bamboo Oil Nourishing Hair Care Collection. I've been aware of the benefits of Coconut Oil, Argan Oil etc but Bamboo Oil is new to me. But, it makes sense, right?! Because bamboo is one of the strongest naturally occurring plant fibers in the world, so much so that many Asian countries use bamboo to construct temporary structures, such as wedding canopies or religious pavilions in India. So, a hair care collection infused with bamboo oil immediately inspired trust in me. Read on to see if that trust was well-founded!

Bamboo Oil Strengthening Conditioner : Protect fragile hair from damage and breakage with HASK Bamboo Oil Strengthening Conditioner. Known to provide a strong foundation for hair, silicone rich bamboo helps reinforce hair strands, improve flexibility and prevent split ends. With ProDefense Complex, biotin and collagen, this conditioner detangles and softens, leaving hair stronger and healthier looking. Ideal for all hair types.

  • Reinforces and Nourishes
  • Free of: sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, drying alcohol and artificial colors
Directions: Shampoo hair and remove excess water. Apply generously, leave on for 1-2 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. For best results, use the HASK Bamboo Oil collection.

IMPRESSIONS : Rich and luxurious, the formula of the shampoo is a thick gel and my initial concern was whether it would lather well--instructing us to work up a thick lather is one thing but would it perform? I'm pleased to report that it does and how! The shampoo cleaned my hair and scalp so well with a thick, rich lather and rinsed clean with minimal residue, leaving my hair already feeling nourished and oh-so-soft.

The conditioner is formulated as a thick cream that my dryer ends all my drank up. The conditioner, too, rinses out with no sticky residue and my hair just felt stronger, even after just a couple of uses. My time-honored test of new haircare is to let my hair air dry after the first use and I woke up the morning after that first wash with soft, bouncy, voluminous hair. Yes, my frizz wasn'y completely under control but it wasn't unmanageable either.

But, I do have two minor issues with this duo. One. much like the Monoi Oil duo I tried HERE, my scalp and the hair near the crown of my head got oily much quicker than usual. As I've mentioned before, I have tricky combination hair--dry at the ends, prone to greasiness and oiliness at the top. This duo really helped my dry ends but conversely, my scalp was a different story.

Secondly, and this is a personal preference, I'm not overly fond of the scent. The duo is scented with a strong citrus scent which I couldn't place my finger on until I read Glamorable's review HERE--lemongrass, the scent is lemongrass and unfortunately I'm not a fan. If you like what I tend to think of as earthy citrus scents, you'll love this though!

Overall, I'm really pleased with this duo and will continue to use it intermittently in my hair care routine.

Bamboo Oil Strengthening Shine Treatment :

This lightweight, alcohol-free instantly absorbing oil provides hair with a luminous glow leaving no greasy residue. Bamboo oil, rich in silicone helps reinforce hair strands, improve flexibility and prevent split ends.

  • Reinforces and Nourishes
  • Free of: sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, drying alcohol and artificial colors

Directions: Can be used on both wet and dry hair to create a silky, smooth finish. Apply a coin-sized amount evenly throughout hair, avoiding the root area. Style as desired.

IMPRESSIONS : I love these little vials of oil that Hask sends with their collections! Some nights when I'm too lazy to use conditioner all over my hair OR when it's already humid outside and I don't want a bunch of conditioner clogging up my oily scalp, I use a little bit of this oil to towel-dry hair and it soaks right in! I feel that I've been good to my hair without the time expended with a full condition and my dry ends thank me for it.

Bamboo Oil Strengthening Deep Conditioner : is a super strengthening, moisturizing treatment that will reinforce fragile hair. Silicone rich bamboo is known to provide a strong foundation for hair and fortifies to help improve flexibility, leaving hair resilient and less prone to split ends and breakage. Ideal for all hair types.
  • Reinforces and Nourishes
  • Free of: sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, drying alcohol and artificial colors
Directions: Apply a generous amount of Bamboo Oil Strengthening Deep Conditioner to clean, wet hair. Massage into hair focusing on damaged areas. Let penetrate for 10 minutes. Rinse well. Style as usual.

IMPRESSIONS : I haven't had a chance to use this yet but I'm saving it for a mini spa night soon, read : at the end of next week when the school year is officially over! But from my past experience with Hask's Deep Conditioners, I can already tell it will be a luxurious, relaxing night and my hair will look and feel amazing afterwards!

  2. I need to find a fragrance from Hask that I could tolerate. Lemongrass on my hair isn't appealing even though the products sound good.

  3. I wasn't aware of bamboo oil. I do like lemongrass scent so I'd be fine with this collection. Sounds very nice!

  5. I definitely learned something, as I didn't know bamboo oil was a thing. Besides the scent (I don't care for lemongrass either) this sounds like a great range.

  7. I treat my hair with oil consistently and use coconut, argan and other oils in my hair so I actually enjoyed the scent, it didn't smell like lemon grass to me at all - if it did, I wouldn't have been able to wear it - lemongrass makes me nauseated. I also have a super dry scalp so products like these don't tend to leave my scalp or crown of my head oily. It's a bummer that that happened to you, because it's such a great product in my opinion.
