Hello, my darlings. With a heavy heart, I write this post tonight. As many of you know, the beauty and nail polish community took a tragic hit with the recent passing of one of its youngest and most inspirational members--Talia Joy. Despite being diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma at the very young age of 7, she continued to remain positive, using makeup and beauty to stay strong. In fact, she has been quoted as saying the makeup was "her wig". Through out her struggle with her illness, she posted makeup tutorials on Youtube and touched the hearts of so many women world-wide.
I, unfortunately, came to know of this remarkable young lady much too late. Nonetheless, I have joined Nail Polish Wars' Mint Manis For Talia Joy to honor the memory of this brave 13-year-old inspiration.
The swatches below show 2 coats of Essie Sag Harbor, followed by two coats of OPI What's Dune--the result is a holo which I hope is worthy of her. Over this, I placed small crystal hearts to symbolize that Talia will all remain in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched.
With flash!
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Nicole of The Nail Polish Wars for organizing this touching tribute in honor of her last mani post and thank all of you who have joined in, collaborated and posted your own manis to mine or any of the other participating bloggers' walls.
If you would like to add your own, please use the hashtags #mintmanisfortaliajoy and #TaliasLegacy. I hope this beautiful little angel is looking down and smiling as she sees all the beautiful manis created to celebrate her life.
Until next time,
<3
