NEW SUMMER FAVES from NYC NEW YORK COLOR Showtime Lip Balms

Hi there, my darlings! Can we take a quick minute to talk about how unbelievably hot it is?! I went out for a couple of hours in the early morning yesterday to run a few errands and by the time I met up with a couple of friends for lunch, I was literally drenched. My face felt like it was melting off and my hair, even its tight little bun, was a frizzy mess. I really don't know how you guys living in the hotter climates do it. I mean, every time I step outside, I feel like I'm going to pass out. Forget being all cute and all with makeup on, it's all I can do not to look as if a steamroller ran over me! About all, I can tolerate on a regular basis in the summer is a little eyeliner, some light mascara and some lip balm. Because let's be real, your lips get just as chapped in the summers as they do in the winters! Today, I'll be sharing three of my favorite shades from this line, from left to right: In Vogue Red, Modern Coral and Fashionable Fucshia. Remember, these are sheer so don't let the bright colors intimidate you! I personally love bright colors, actually the brighter the better but I know not all of you out there feel that way! These may just be the perfect middle ground!

So, how do I really feel about them? In one word...LOVE! I'm pretty obsessed with lip balms as it is, applying them at every chance I get. I mean, I'm not my sister who goes through lip balms like a fiend but I like to keep my lips feeling hydrated at all times. But, like I said, the summer months are a challenge! Makeup of any kind becomes a chore...unless they're light, comfortable and feels like it's almost not there. And that's exactly what these lip balms are all about! These are sheer and go on smooth as butter, like a balm should, but they have the added benefit of not feeling overly sticky or tacky. Is there anything worse than getting your flyaway hair stuck to your lipgloss/lipstick on a hot day?! No, I don't think so. Although sheer, you can totally layer it on for a bolder look--I'm going to try blotting them a little and see how they hold up as a stain.

Oh and before I go, let me tell you the best part! These smell fruity! Ah bliss! My favorite? Ooh that's a tough one! I kinda like them all but I think Fashionable Fuchsia is currently leading the pack. Who knows that could change with my mood tomorrow!
