Hi my darlings!! I have a special treat for you! So as many of you have seen, I recently reviewed a few holos from Emily de Molly and these came directly from the maker herself (via my Australian swap fairy)! In the course of figuring out the nitty-gritty details of international shipping, the maker of Emily de Molly, Hayley (yes, that's right! NOT Emily! NOR Molly) was so easy to talk to! She seemed to take a real interest in my blog and went out of her way to have this review package to me as quickly as possible! It's safe to say that I'm not only very taken with her creations but I'm equally taken with her!! So, I asked her if she'd like to do an exclusive interview with me and she graciously accepted! YAY!! Read on for a glimpse into the world of Hayley of Emily de Molly! =)
1. How did you first get into making polish?
I stumbled across it by accident really, I was looking up
holographic polishes and I came across more nail polishes blog posts about
creating her own holos. After a lot of
reading and researching I took the plunge and ordered some supplies.
2. What was the inspiration for the name "Emily de
Molly"?
My dog, her name is Emily <3
My best friends husband actually came up with the name, at
the time they had a dog called Molly.
I don't know how he came up with it but it just kinda stuck?
Sadly Molly has passed away now but Emily is doing very
well.
3. What inspires your collections? What inspired your latest
collection? Any hints about upcoming collections?
I've never actually done a collection. I don't know why but
I have never been interested. I prefer to just work at my own pace and release
new colours as I create them.
4. Do you have a favorite indie maker(s)? Favorite
mainstream brand?
I really don't....
5. What are your go-to products for nail/cuticle care?
I am actually very forgetful when it comes to nail care.
When I remember I use duri revitacote as a base coat and a cuticle oil.
6. What are your favorite colors? In general? For summer?
For fall?
Blue is my favorite colour, followed closely by green. I
don't take much notice of what season it is in terms of colours, I just wear
what I feel like at the time.
7. This may be hard--but which are your 3 favorite
creations?
Cosmic forces
Rhodium
And a new one yet to be released ;)
8. Do you have any other hobbies?
I used to make jewellery, I really don't have any spare time
anymore though, hopefully I will one day.
9. What is your most favorite thing about being an indie
maker? What do you least like? What advice would you give to new indie makers?
I love that I can be creative with what I do and that I can
share that with anyone who may be interested. I least like packaging up my
international orders, it's very involved and takes a really long time. Advice
to new comers, make sure you test everything well and for a suitable amount of
time and try not to copy anyone else's work.
10. Fun facts :
Astrological sign : Gemini/Taurus
Favorite comfort food : Any form of sugar.
Favorite beauty item besides polish : Mascara
Favorite fragrance : Baby rose jeans by Versace
Favorite vacation destination : What's a vacation!
Favorite candy : I kinda like them all.
Favorite family member or friend (you can pick one of each)
: I can't do that!

This is a really cool interview! I've been lusting after Emily de Molly polishes for quite some time, and it's nice to learn more about the brand and the glitter-genius behind it. :)
