Today, I'd like to share my personal experience with the products I tried.
MOP Mixed Greens Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner ($20 and $22 for 250 mL)
Shampoo: Vegetable derived cleansing agents, nutritious greens and olive oil nourish and gently cleanse. Soothes and softens the hair.
Conditioner: Natural enzymes, vitamins and nutritious greens remove soapy residue. Vitamins help soften and detangle even the most unruly hair.
I have to admit, as excited as I was to try these products, I was also a little skeptical about the whole Mixed Greens angle. Was I going to be slathering my hair in the equivalent of a green smoothie? I'm all about masks and natural products but I steer clear of the excessively herbaceous ones because I have REALLY long, thick hair which absorbs scents like a sponge and I'm kinda stuck with that earthy scent until my next wash. But I was pleasantly surprised by these! Since they both contain extracts from cucumber and rosemary along with apple cider vinegar and olive oil, you would think they smell like a veritable garden salad. Not so! Honestly, I smell a citrus-y fragrance with a slight underlying herbal scent. Despite being a girl who is a hard-core fan of florals and fruity scents, it's not at all unpleasant.
The duo itself works wonderfully on my hair. The shampoo lathers richly and rinses clean to leave my hair feeling soft and just healthy. The conditioner is a rich yet not too thick formula that easily worked through my long strands. It's super hydrating without weighing down my hair too much. I didn't find that it did much for my frizzy, baby flyaways but my hair felt and looked shiny, soft and just healthy. I'm impressed that a gentle, natural, vegetable-based formula took such great care of my hair!
MOP Orange Peel Molding Cream ($22.00)
Orange Peel Molding Cream is used for separation and hold that won’t break down throughout the day. Licorice and Orange Peel produce a textured look that adds depth and a matte finish to create a modern style.
As I've mentioned several times in the past, I usually steer clear of styling products, trusting to a leave-in conditioner, a heat protectant serum and my hot air brush. While that works quite well for most of my hair, I'm still plagued by these annoying little baby flyaways all around my head. As much as I wish they just looked wispy and casual, they just make me look frazzled--like I drove through a hurricane with the window down. Not a good look. I've tried using just a bit of this on those flyaways, especially when I'm wearing a ponytail or a high bun and that works out MUCH better! It's not too greasy and the matte finish counteracts my hair's natural tendency to get greasy. Definitely worth keeping in my stash!

ReplyDeleteI don't have a celebrity girl crush but the shampoo and conditioner sound interesting. I love products that contain oils. I wonder if it is similar to the Pacifica Kale products.
