CAMEO COLOURS LACQUER Days of the Week Undies collection and YOU POLISH decals/stencils : Swatches, Review and...NAIL ART!!

Hi, my darlings! Tonight's post is incredibly exciting for me since I've been working on getting it together for a good week or so! Several long nights and several periods of head scratching later, I'm really proud of what I've come up with! What has got me all in a tizzy you ask? I'm talking about the Days of the Week Undies collection, a collection of amazing cremes from Cameo Colours Lacquers and a variety pack of nail art decals and stencils from You Polish! Now most of you know, nail art is often way beyond my skill set--sadly, art has never come easily to me. I don't really have the eye for proportions or the flair for details. But, lately I wanted to try my hand at them...I don't know why but I think it has something to do with all the creativity I see on Instagram--so much talent out there! While I could NEVER reach the artistic levels of some of these women, I still want to try it, for fun! And hey, there must be some of you out there who are like me, right? Who WANT to try but don't have the experience? Well, I certainly hope so! I hope I have some like-minded women to share this journey with! And these cremes from Cameo and the stencils from Lauren are seriously a lifesaver!

Before I show you swatches, I'd like to mention the formula of these cremes and how truly impressed by them I was! I mean, they're cremes, right? What can possibly excite one about cremes? Not true! These cremes are richly pigmented with the perfect formula and buttery-smooth application. From the very first coat, almost all of them were a dream! All swatches below, unless specifically mentioned, are just two easy coats, topped with 1 thin coat of G&G's HK Girl for added shine. Now I DID use two coats for most of them out of sheer habit, but almost every single one of them would have been just fine with one generous coat! Yup! You heard me! One coat and they are nicely level, completely opaque and perfectly smooth! What magic is this!

I'd also like to mention what a GODSEND these decals and stencils from You Polish has been for me as I experiment with nail art! Super easy to use, super easy to remove and SO many options! I mean, yes, there are the standard chevrons and french tip guides but beyond that, she has SO much more! Zebra stencils, stars and bows and hearts, and wait for it...HOLOGRAPHIC stencils! I requested a variety pack to help me try some nail art and Lauren came through with flying colors! Wait til you see some of what I created using them!

Alrighty! Now on to swatches! =)

First up, I have for you Monday--a bright blue creme. This was a smidge darker in real life than my camera picked up but oh so beautiful!

Nail Art look I created with this shade using You Polish's nautical-inspired holographic decals--seahorses, seashells and starfishes! How amazing are these stencils?! A rainbow holo to pop against your favorite creme!

Next, I have for you Tuesday--a slate gray creme. Stormy and pigmented, this is one of the best gray cremes I've laid eyes on!

Nail Art look I created with this was super easy to do--a leopard print using splotches of Pop Beauty's Eleven Pinkest and bracketed with brushstrokes of Sinful Colors Black on Black. It doesn't have to be precise at all and the neon pink really stood out against the gray!

Wednesday is a lovely medium pink, almost coral, creme. A lot of pinks don't work very well with my complexion but this was just pigmented enough to really pop!

Nail Art look I created using You Polish's french tip guide and Sally Hansen Nail Prisms in Golden Tourmaline--I used a dotting tool to places some dots follow the curve of my nail along one side. The result--a tonal holographic french tip and dotticure!

Thursday is a bright lime green creme. Perfect for Spring!

Nail Art look I created was using a dotting tool to place five dots in a flower shape using Monday and Wednesday. Super bright, super fun and perfect for Spring!

Friday is a tomato red creme. I LOVE this shade! So sexy and perfect for a Friday night out in the city!

Nail Art look I created using another set of You Polish's french tip guides, Cameo Colours Lacquers Night of the Hunter (which I will have reviewed for you shortly) and these adorable holographic nail bows from You Polish. This is my absolutely favorite look! So sexy, right?!

Saturday is an ivory creme. The PERFECT  office-friendly shade or, in my case, canvas for nail art!

Nail Art look I created using Friday, a mix of Friday and Wednesday and Tuesday--I just used a dotting tool to make little splotches for the roses and little swirls within them to give them definition. The leaves were made...wait for it...with two colors of green PERMANENT marker! Yup! You heard right! Once this dried a little, I slapped on one more coat of G&G's HK Girl and voila! My second favorite nail art look! In fact, I still have this on! =)

Last but not the least, Sunday is a dusky purple creme. Super pigmented and oh-so-gorgeous!

Nail Art look I created using OPI DS Original and chevrons from You Polish and a dotting tool to add dots of Zoya Charisma (which is fast becoming my go-to for nail art) and Sinful Colors Wisp. At first, I thought this might be a little too busy but this look grew on me the more I looked at it!
