HIT or MISS: HARD CANDY Velvet Mousse Matte Lip Color

Hi there, my darlings! Your friendly, neighborhood lipstick addict checking in today with a quick post...and a brand I obviously haven't tried near enough of! Today, I'll be sharing my experience with 2 of Hard Candy's latest additions to their Velvet Mousse Matte Lip Color line. Was I impressed? You'll have to read on to find out!


HARD CANDY VELVET MOUSSE MATTE LIP COLOR:

In just one sweep, wrap lips in a divine velvety texture.

This full coverage matte liquid lip color hydrates lips, offers comfortable wear and delivers bold long-lasting wear.




Originally available in 7 velvety shades, Hard Candy has added another 7 new shades recently.

I had the opportunity to try of the 2 new additions: Foxglove (LEFT, below) and Heather.




So, the verdict? Honestly, neither shade quite did it for me. I had high hopes for Heather but it wears a slightly ashy peachy shade on my lips which I couldn't quite get behind. Foxglove is a nice enough neutral shade, if you're into nudes/neutrals. Unfortunately, for me, both were a miss.

Now, let's get to the good news. I LOVE the formula! These apply so beautifully with that angled wand and dries to a comfortable, velvety matte finish that's incredibly easy to wear. Yes, it will transfer to some degree even after completely dry but the pigmentation was quite impressive and it's definitely worth a try just for the wearability factor. For my part, I need to get my hands on a couple more of these, preferably in shades that I can be truly happy about! At their price point, I can definitely grab a few! 😉

    I love the packaging of these. I've got a few shades from the winter that are darker.

    I love the packaging, and Heather would work for me, but alas, I know I couldn't wear this matte mousse with my dry dry lips. Boo hoo

    I haven't tried these, just the glossy ones. I do like the look of these though, the tins are such a nice addition.

    These are quite pretty, but I don't think that I could pull off these colors. I fear that the matte mousse formula might be a bit drying for me, though.
