CUPCAKE POLISH Fall Fancies collection : Swatches and Review

Hi there, my darlings! TGIF, huh! As I'm sure many of you have noticed, I don't cover very many indies on the blog lately. Now, I still have much love for small business and support many indies out there but as the blog has gotten busier, I've consciously taken a step back from polish in general. As much as I LOVE nail polish, it is incredibly time-consuming, not to mention a storage challenge. So, while I will still be covering a select few indies, it will have to be just that--an exclusive handful. Most of you know by now of my obsession with Cupcake Polish so it should come as no surprise that Sara will definitely be one of them--I remain incredibly grateful for her continued support over the years and consider it an honor to work with her! Today's collection should underline exactly why--her upcoming Fall Fancies collection truly is worth being addicted to!


Before we get to swatches, let's take a minute to talk about the formula and application of these six holographic polishes. Across the board, as with just about every Cupcake in my stash, each applied smoothly and was perfectly opaque in just 2 easy coats. If you tend to paint a little more generously, I bet you could get away with just 1 coat of these richly pigmented shades--the swatches below show 2 easy coats, topped with 1 thin coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat to finish the look. Fall is my favorite season and every single one of these is just perfect for Fall!


Apple-y Ever After is a gorgeous, deep red with a touch of gold shimmer and a strong linear holographic finish. Reds can be tricky to get truly holo but Sara nailed this one! This beauty is going to be one of my all-time fave red holos EVER!

Let Your Gourd Down is a vibrant royal blue with a hint of blue/turquoise sparkle and a strong linear holographic finish. One of my faves in this collection, this blue is to die for!

Nut'n Better is a warm brown with a touch of coppery gold shimmer and a strong linear holographic finish. I can't think of another brown holo I've loved as much as this one!

Owl Always Love You is a lovely baby blue with tons of silver microflakies and a strong linear holographic finish. So pretty, you can rock this one well into winter!

Plum Perfect is a deep, sexy eggplant purple/plum with a hint of red sparkle and a strong linear holographic finish. Another instant fave, I couldn't bear to take this vampy beauty off--in fact, I'm still wearing this 3 full days after swatching and my mani is still perfect!

Unbe-leaf-able is a rich, forest green with strong gold shimmer and a strong linear holographic finish. If you love greens, this one is another must-have!
