Rainbow Honey Final Battle Collection Review and Swatches : Tidal Wave, Ultimate Weapon and Phoenix Down

Hi there, my darlings! Can you believe it's only Tuesday?? Unhhhh. This week is so dragging! 2 days in and I just want to curl up and take an epic 3 day nap! =P But since that's not possible, let's do the next best thing! Talk about pretty, pretty polish! To that end, I have three beautiful polishes from Rainbow Honey's latest Final Battle collection! This collection is comprised of a whopping 15 polishes and is split into 3 separate parts--I have 1 polish from each of these parts to show you today! Before we jump right into swatches, let's start off with the shop descriptions (in italics below) first :

"The Final Battle brings us 15 new shades inspired by Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII. Often touted as “the game that sold the PlayStation,” FFVII was a long and grueling gaming experience full of heavy thematic elements and strife. The game touches on eco-terrorism, over-industrialization, and the expectations and challenges we battle over the course of life. With a cast as varied as the enemies they encounter, there was no shortage of inspiration here!

Part I, The Battle, plays off of some of the main elements of the game: the heroes and the ultimate faceoff between the Planet’s Lifestream and the Meteor; Phoenix Down is a nod to the recurring battle item throughout the Final Fantasy series.

Part II, The Summons, depicts five of the attacks used by the beasts and monsters summoned in the game - a crucial part of any important battle!

Part III takes its name from The Weapons created by the Planet as a form of self-defense. These bio-mechanical monsters were massive and powerful and I have taken the chance to create a durable and colorful interpretation of each one. They are smooth, shine bright with metallic shimmer, and make a great base for the many glitters in this collection."

So first up, I have for you Phoenix Down from Part I--a clear glitter topcoat full of red, orange, white and iridescent hexes, squares, shards and microbars. This is a topcoat more on the thicker side so I would recommend painting thin coats and the use of a good topcoat--the swatches below show 1 thin coat on all fingers, except the middle which shows 2 coats, over 3 coats of Ultimate Weapon (shown further below), topped with 1 generous coat of G&G's HK Girl to finish the look.

The swatches below show 1 thin coat of Phoenix Down over 2 coats of OPI Funky Dunkey, with and without flash respectively!

Next, I have my favorite of the three, Tidal Wave from Part II--a gorgeous bright aqua polish with small holographic glitters and packed with turquoise shimmer! The application and formula on this was fantastic and the swatches below show 3 coats of Tidal Wave, topped with 1 thin coat of G&G's HK Girl to bring it all together. I love this particular shade of aqua and the sparkle is to die for!

Last but definitely no the least, I have for you Ultimate Weapon from Part III--a blackened violet packed FULL of royal blue shimmer. Again, absolutely no issues with application or formula and the swatches below show 3 easy coats, topped with 1 generous coat of G&G's HK Girl to finish the look. I adore the intense blue shimmer in this polish! SO gorgeous!

If you're as enamored of these polishes as I am and need to add them to your stash OR you want to grab one of the other FIFTEEN that make up this collection, you can find them HERE for $10 for a full-size, 15 mL (0.5 oz) bottle.
