Hi there, my darlings! It's almost gift giving week and that means it's time for another one of my Holiday Gift Guides! This time, with one of my favorite things in the world--fine fragrance. I find a good fragrance, one that resonates with an individual, isn't just a style statement or an accessory but can significantly uplift one's mood and outlook. At least, it does for me! Aromatherapy at its finest! This year, I have had the opportunity to test a whole lot of new fragrances out on the market as well as re-discover some old favorites. So, knowing me, although incredibly difficult to narrow down, I have chosen 7 of my favorite scents of the year here. And yes, they are all floral or fruity blends that are guaranteed that brighten your day!

MOLTON BROWN Heavenly Gingerlily ($65.00 for 1.7 fl oz)

Our much-loved heavenly fragrance is now available in an alluring eau de toilette, blended with ginger, jasmine and floral notes.

The notes
Top notes: cardamom, ginger and clove.
Heart notes: tuberose, tagetes, lily and jasmine.
Base notes: cedarwood, sandalwood and musk.

I'll start off with a surprise favorite. I have to admit I haven't tried much from Molton Brown until very recently, as in just this year. So, I didn't have any expectations going in. But I was very pleasantly surprised by just how much I loved this refreshing, tropical scent. The spicy notes of ginger and cardamom complemented the floral notes so well and this became an everyday sort of summer scent for me!

VICTORIA'S SECRET Crush ($68.00 for 3.4 fl oz)

Addicted to you. A total rush, this electric scent has fresh energy, playful florals and sexy spice for an intoxicating high.

Fragrance type: Fresh

Notes: Pink peppercorn, Treasure peony and Ashok flower

Another surprise since I have never looked to VS for my fragrance needs. But this alluring floral with just a touch of exotic spiciness really appeals to me. Add to that the retro packaging and it was love at first spritz. Now, I just have to be ok with sharing with the mothership!

ESTÉE LAUDER Modern Muse Le Rouge ($115.00 for 3.4 fl oz)

Be daring. Be an inspiration.

Experience the fragrance that captures your glamour, your sophistication, your bravado.

A sexy, provocative contrast of two distinctively different accords—rich roses awakened by ripe fruit, with a seductive velvet creme accord—provide an intriguing dual impression. It's a true innovation in fragrance design, as complex and fascinating as the woman who inspires it.

This year, I have tried both tow versions of Modern Muse--the original and Le Rouge. While I loved both, the sexier, more intense really won my heart. You can read all my thoughts about both versions HERE.

LANCÔME La Vie Est Belle L'Eclat ($90.00 for 1.7 fl oz)

Fragrance Family:

Scent Type:
Powdery Floral

Key Notes:
Iris, Orange Blossom, Vanilla Bean

L’Eclat is the fragrance of a luminous and never-ending emotion, an invitation to share the light of happiness. The new olfactive of La vie est belle captures the sparkle of orange blossom—radiant, fresh and sophisticated—in a multifaceted bottle that captures the light.

La Vie Est Belle is the fragrance of joyful femininity that makes life more beautiful. It is for the woman who lives in the present, who is filled with honesty, truth, and gratitude, and who is free of social constraint, to blaze her own unique path.

This one is the most recent addition to my collection and one I took to immediately. It's light, it's airy, it's uplifting--everything I adore in a fine fragrance! I'm particularly taken with the notes of orange blossom which just makes me happy!

KENZO Flower by Kenzo Eau de Lumière ($94.00 for 3.4 fl oz)

Flower by Kenzo's iconic poppy captures the energy and sensuality of the light in a dazzling and ultra-feminine floral fragrance, for a radiant woman and a bright world! The vitality of bergamot marries with the juicy freshness of pear. The first vibrant notes unfold into a radiant floral heart of sublime Bulgarian rose and solar jasmine sambac, against a background of dazzling white musks and honey balm for an irresistibly addictive fragrant trail. The emblematic bottle features a flower with luminous coral petals and a touch of gold to elegantly enclose this precious Eau de Lumière.

With the Kenzos too, I was privileged enough to try three versions and this one, lighter and fresher than her sisters, was my clear favorite. I wear this one for all those special daytime occasions and never fail to receive a compliment! You can read my thoughts on all three HERE.

YVES SAINT LAURENT Mon Paris (Star Limited Collector's Edition) ($165.00 for 3 fl oz)

Dare to dress like a shining star with YSL. Discover the iconic Mon Paris Eau de Parfum, now turned into the Sparkling Star Limited Collector's Edition. While the iconic formula of red berries, white flowers and white remains the same, the stars and Swarovski crystals that dress the bottle bring a more rock and couture attitude to the bottle. A new collector to highlight the edgy style of Yves Saint Laurent.

Strawberry, Raspberry, Bergamot, Calone, Pear, Orange Flower, Jasmin Sambac, White Peony, Datura, Patchouli, White Musk, Ambrox, Cedarwood, Crystal Moss.
Passionate. Sensual. Sophisticated.

Ah YSL! I'm getting dangerously addicted to this brand, to the despair of my wallet. The most expensive addition to my collection and arguably one of my top 3, I save this one for all those extra special occasions. The floral notes combined with the fruity accents are just rich enough to stand out even when it's dark outside! And let me not even get started on the limited edition, crytal-encrusted bottle. Just divine!

GIVENCHY Live Irrésistible ($91.00 for 2.5 fl oz)

She makes her own luck and rewrites all the rules, leaving just one: Live Irrésistible. The refreshing sweetness of a crisp pear blends with the vivacity of juicy raspberry for a tangy freshness. Airy petals of rose and allspice berries ignite sensual musks and woody notes in an explosive finale.

The couture inspired bottle is fresh and effervescent, adorned with light pink studs and a bright pink label that remind you to Live Irrésistible.

Allspice Berries, Juicy Raspberry, Rose, Crisp Pear.
Fun. Bright. Happy.

Last but not least, another designer brand that I'm growing to really love. I love the fresh, sweet notes of berries in this fragrance and it indeed does uplift my mood whenever I wear it. This one is just a lovely, pretty scent that I have come to adore!
