SHINESPARK POLISH 80's Neons collection...plus a BONUS glitterbomb : Swatches and Review

Hi there, my darlings! It's a gloomy, rainy but warm morning in NYC...so to brighten up our day, I'd like to share with you my swatches of a super bright collection from this week's featured indie, Shinespark Polish--get ready for the 80's Neons collection!

Before we get to swatches, let's take a couple of minutes to talk about the application and formula. Neons are notorious for being streaky and problematic to work with. Happily, the formula of these 7 polishes were much easier to work with! Add to that the hint of shimmer that many of these have, this is a stunning collection! A couple did tend to be a little streaky but the trick I learned courtesy of this article from The Trendy Nail is to use a matte topcoat to help tame streaks. As such, I used Butter London Matte Finish topcoat as a BASECOAT and then applied 3 thin coats of each polish by itself, no topcoat--by the second coat the polish was relatively streak-free and fully opaque. I threw on the third coat to smooth it all out and bring it all together. With that said, let's get to swatches!

Bouncin' Blue is a bright neon blue creme with a hint of shimmer. One of my personal favorites of this collection, I still found it hard to place this shade exactly. Is it aqua? Cerulean? Whatever you call it, it's absolutely gorgeous!

Glam Green is a shockingly bright neon green creme with just the barest whisper of shimmer. If you love greens, this one is a must-have for your stash!

Outrageous Orange is a tangerine orange creme again with a hint of shimmer. Such a bright, happy shade!

Psych'd Purple is what I like to think of as a neon orchid purple creme with the barest sprinkle of shimmer. Another instant favorite, I love how this color flatters my complexion!

Pumped Pink is a truly hot pink creme with just a wee bit of shimmer. Another personal favorite, you can see I had a really hard time narrowing down my favorites in this collection but can you blame me?! I mean, just look at how gorgeous this is!

Radical Red is a coral creme with a hint of shimmer. Wait for it...yup! Another favorite, I love this particular shade of coral. Bright yet oh-so-feminine! And it lets me wear an orangey shade without really committing to ORANGE! Lol!

Last but definitely not the least, Yuppie Yellow is a shockingly bright neon yellow creme with a lime-green undertone. This is was the only one I couldn't detect a shimmer in and the one that gave me a bit of trouble. But with a color pay-off like THIS, I'd say it was well worth it!

BONUS : 80's Fun is a true glitterbomb packed full of aqua stars, yellow and purple dots, pink squares, and tons of blue holographic microglitter. The swatches below show 2 thin coats over 1 coat of Sally Hansen Scaredy Matte, topped with 2 thin coats of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat. Isn't this just a party in a bottle?!

With flash!
