DIY GLITTER UNICORN HACK WITH EARTH HENNA WHITE LACE KIT

Hi there, my darlings! It's high time I did a fun post. A post as much to cheer myself up as to share something fun with you all. And as an East Indian blogger, what better way to do that than to do something with henna?!

Now, as someone born in India with deep roots to my culture AND as someone who has been spending the last year in said country of birth, I'm not unfamiliar with henna. Far from it, henna is everywhere. Definitely at every wedding. Random stalls at the mall. Nowadays, people get henna done just because. What I'm saying is that it's all fairly commonplace. And while I still love henna, it isn't anything that exciting for me. Add to that the fact that I have all the artistic talent of a lamppost and you can probably guess why I don't attempt it at home. Until now, that is. When I was offered the chance to test the white lace kit from Earth Henna, I could NOT pass it up. I mean, c'mon, WHITE!? You hardly ever see that! And then, I had a rare creative inspiration and decided to jazz things up a bit! READ ON!

WHITE LACE & SILVER GLITTER KIT ($23.27, ON SALE)

Quickly create gorgeous temporary white tattoos that look like elegant lace on the skin with our White Lace & Silver Glitter Henna Temporary Tattoo Kit!

Often referred to as “white henna” because of the henna-inspired designs created with the product, these White Lace Tattoos differ from true henna in that they actually sit on top of the skin. The tattoos are applied just like henna, but the mixture—which is made up of FDA-approved body paint and skin-safe adhesive—dries almost instantly once applied. Earth Henna™ White Lace Tattoos do not stain the skin, and they last 1–5 days.

By themselves, temporary tattoos created with the kit are as beautiful as lace—or you can apply silver glitter over your white henna design for extra dazzle! The Earth Henna™ White Lace & Silver Glitter Temporary Tattoo Kit is ideal for creating eye-catching festival body art or for special events such as parties, weddings, or vacations!

White & Silver Henna Kit Contents:

  • White Lace solution
  • Silver glitter
  • Corn starch
  • Applicator tip
  • Cotton ball
  • Small makeup brush
  • Sheet of tattoo design patterns
  • Complete printed instructions

HOW TO:

1. Start with clean, dry skin.

I just washed my hands thoroughly with soap and water and dried them completely. NO lotion.

2. Remove cap and replace with twist-on applicator tip.

This was a fairly straightforward step and the thin nozzle tip makes for easy application.

3. Squeeze bottle to expel solution and create design.

Squeeze GENTLY. Please. I was a little too enthusiastic and ended up with too thick patches in some places.

There's a nice little sheet enclosed with pretty designs. But I can barely draw a straight line to save my life. So, I used a beautiful lotus stencil from Vino Vinyls! Necessity is the mother of all invention!

4. Wait for design to dry (in approximately 10 minutes). Be careful not to smudge it! The design will feel tacky to the touch.

Be patient! This stuff is quite tacky and does need about 10-15 minutes to get to where you want it for the next step.

5. Dip cotton ball in cornstarch/silver glitter provided and lightly dust design.

The cornstarch or glitter helps to set the design, much like a setting powder would your foundation. Now, there was a silver glitter included but I decided to use a couple of more glitters from Model's Own Celestial Collection.

The cotton balls were pretty useless so I just used a little metal nail file to literally pour glitter randomly over the design.

6. Brush off excess cornstarch/silver glitter with the makeup brush provided.

The makeup brush was super helpful to get all the little bits of glitter off. And...TADA! Glittery, unicorn-y (is that even a word?!) white "henna" that you can customize how ever you would like! Easy peasy! The process took little less than 30 mins and could not have been easier, especially if you're using stencils like I did.

My only complaint is that, although the design is supposed to dry flat, there is a learning curve to using just enough product to allow that to happen. I often squeezed too much out of the bottle and my designs were quite bumpy. Oh well, I bet you all will be much better at it than I was! Lots of fun nonetheless, for a night with the kids or a girls' night in.

So there you have it, my darlings! You can find this and other gorgeous henna kits on Earth Henna's website HERE. But wait! You can use the code HENNA15 for 15% off your order!
