Stepping Out Of My Comfort Zone with RIMMEL'S The Only 1 Matte Lipsticks!

Hi there, my darlings! Tomorrow is a big day here in India--DIWALI! The Festival of Lights is a celebration of light, joy and renewal in Hindu mythology. Families gather together on this day to spend time with loved ones, exchange gifts and welcome in a new year of abundance into their lives. And, of course, because India and us Indians are SO EXTRA, and very proud of, this day also means firecrackers, dressing up in our shiny best and generally over-indulging in life. What better day than today to step a little bit out of one's comfort zone, right? Let me just begin by saying that I really enjoy the formula of this lipsticks. I love a good matte lippie and mattes are pretty much all I wear, especially now that I live in a humid tropical climate for the time being. These are very easy to wear and feel incredibly smooth and comfortable on the lips, which is a big plus when it comes to mattes, be it any season. They aren't overly drying nor do they get flaky, which is my biggest pet peeve with some mattes.

I was actually very surprised, and pleasantly so, by how pigmented these shades are. While pretty enough, the shades look quite pale when you open the tubes up. But don't let that fool you! These lippies pack quite the punch when it comes to pigmentation! While the first shades is a bit too light for my skin tone, I really like the second and absolutely love the third--High Flyer is the dusty pink shade that I'm always on the look out for!

All in all, these aren't my go-to reds and berries, but these colors allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and find a new fave! Maybe you can too!
