Happy New Year, my darlings! I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday break with family and loved ones! I know that I did! It's been 15 years since I have been able to spend Christmas and New Year's with my family so you can imagine just how happy I am! I cannot stress enough the importance of a good heat protectant when using styling tools--the high temperatures that the latest tools can reach will literally fry your hair without one. At the same time, I often find heat protectant serums to be quite heavy, leaving a sticky residue that weighs my long hair down, no matter how lightly I spritz on or how high of a temperature I'm using. For a girl who likes light, bouncy, voluminous waves, this is a definite no-no.

That's why I really like argan oil in my heat protectants--it protects my hair while still being light and super absorbent. The nozzle and bottle allowed me to lightly spritz a fine mist of the protectant all over my long hair while wet and coat it evenly. Personally, I have never been fond of traditional straighteners. While I do have some major frizz issues going on with my hair, I find that traditional straighteners do too good of a job, leaving my hair flat and honestly, pretty lifeless. Not great for my already round face. So, I prefer easy, soft waves or straight hair that still retains some volume.

This brush is perfect for that! I have tried a similar brush from Amazon but found it quite heavy and cumbersome to work with. When you have hair as long as mine, that translates to a very tiring styling process. This brush is not only quite light but it left my hair soft and straight, with enough volume that it didn't fall flat. Plus, I have used it to give me some soft waves when straight just wasn't what I wanted. My only quibble is that it isn't dual compatible which means it does not work outside the US. Hence, I gifted it to a friend when I moved away. Sadness on my part but I think she will really enjoy it! If you haven't tried one of these brushes out yet, I definitely recommend giving this one a whirl this New Year!
