TREAT YOURSELF TO BOXYCHARM FOR DECEMBER 2018!

Hi there, my darlings! With the Holidays right around the corner, most of us are still scrambling to finish up our gift lists...and if you're anything like me, you have left a lot for the very last minute. Don't worry! I'm in the same boat and I'll be sharing quite a few gift guides right up until the very brink of the Holidays. But, if you're here, it's safe to assume that you love makeup, almost as much as I do! So, have you picked up a gift for yourself? The way that 2018 went, I'm pretty sure we all deserve a treat just for making it through the year! So, if you're in the market for a "treat yo'self" deal, have you considered a BoxyCharm subscription? I know that personally, no matter how tired or annoyed I am at the end of the day, a Boxycharm package never fails to cheer me up! I have been sampling their boxes for a good 6 months now and, although I may not use every single product in every single box, I have yet to be disappointed in one of these boxes. Take the December 2018 box--there's a whole lot of awesome in this one!

COSMEDIX Activated Charcoal Detox Mask ($54.00 USD for full-size: travel size included in box)

WHAT IT IS:
Ultra-purifying and uber gentle, Detox Activated Charcoal Mask works like a magnet to draw out pore-clogging dirt, oil and daily impurities while cleansing away age-accelerating pollutants for a flawlessly fresh, smoother-looking and clarified complexion.

WHAT IT DOES:
  • Absorbs excess oil, dirt and daily impurities
  • Exfoliates to help smooth skin’s texture and restore a more radiant-looking complexion
  • Cleanses away pollutants which can accelerate visible signs of aging
Skin in need of a detox? We’ve got you covered. Unlike other charcoal masks that can leave skin feeling dry, tight and even irritated, Detox Activated Charcoal Mask does the dirty work without the ouch-factor with gentle, effective ingredients and a soft finish that’s never over drying. Formulated with activated charcoal and kaolin clay and ideal for even the most sensitive skin, this clarifying face mask draws out daily impurities like oil, dirt, dead skin cells and residue from toxic air pollution, helping pores appear less visible and leaving your complexion looking and feeling clear and smooth. Diatomaceous Earth gently exfoliates to reveal a brighter-looking complexion that’s silky-smooth to the touch. Go ahead, detox—your skin will thank you.

TRANSFORMATIVE INGREDIENTS:
  • Charcoal and Kaolin Clay | Act like a magnet to draw out oil, dirt and impurities that clog pores
  • Dandelion Extract and Alteromonas Ferment Extract | Help protect skin against pollution and revive radiant-looking skin
  • Diatomaceous Earth | Exfoliates the skin

I'm a big, huge fan of charcoal masks because charcoal really works on my oily, acne-prone skin! Activated charcoal draws out all the garbage from my pores and leaves my skin feeling cleaner. healthier, more radiant. So, I'm really happy that this mask was in this month's box--I'm due for a bit of a detox!

BODYOGRPHY Lip Liner in Heatherberry ($12.00 USD)

An antioxidant lip pencil that glides on like your favorite lipstick with precise, pigment-rich color to frame, fill in, and define lips. Enriched with Coconut Oil and Vitamin E.

    CRUELTY-FREE, VEGAN, & GLUTEN-FREE
    • Durable pigments for extended wear
    • Applies smoothly without dragging
    • Infused with Coconut Oil & Vitamin E
    • Formulated without parabens & gluten

I love this shade! It's SO hard for me to find the right "nude" shades--the ones that most people love either wash me out or make my lips look sickly. Described as a "rose/brown nude", this shade has enough pigmentation to flatter my skin tone! Score!

TARTE Tarteist Shimmering Lip Paint in Insta Famous ($20.00 USD)

      WHAT IT IS:
Achieve a galaxy gleam with this sheer lipgloss available in 3 stunning shades is infused with ultra-reflective glitter for a luscious, multidimensional pout perfect to layer over lipstick, or wear alone for a hint of color & shine.

      WHAT IT DOES:
      • Gives lips a sheer wash of color & a high shine finish
      • Infused with reflective, floating glitter
      • Universally flattering on all skin tones
      • Has a delicious cocoa & angel food cake scent

This is such a pretty lip gloss! Unfortunately, I personally steer clear of lipglosses in general for two reasons, I really don't like the feeling and who has time to add gloss on top of a lipstick?! Give me a good matte and I'm good to go! That being said, if you like pretty, shimmering, iridescent glosses, you could not have asked for a better one!

Here are swatches of both the Shimmering Lip Paint (left) and the Lip liner!

PRETTY VULGAR The Powder Room Translucent Setting Powder ($32.00 USD)

        What it is:
A translucent loose powder that sets foundation with a matte, soft-focus effect.

        What it does:
The Powder Room is a weightless, skin-smoothing, translucent setting powder that locks your makeup into place. Simply dab the powder onto the face with the included soft, delicate puff applicator to keep your makeup looking fresh and flawless all day long. This powder will effortlessly enhance the look of your foundation by blurring and filling the look of fine lines without leaving a trace of color. This pore-minimizing, silky-smooth powder was formulated to absorb excess oils, reduce shine, and provide your skin with a soft-matte finish.

With my oily skin, I always appreciate a good setting powder. And, let's be honest, if this wasn't in the box, I doubt I would have purchased it at that price--it's a little steep, don't you think? Nonetheless, since it IS in the box, YAY! I will definitely get good use out of this baby!

SUVA BEAUTY Protégé Palette ($36.00 USD)

          What is it?
SUVA Beauty’s Protégé Palette contains a versatile colour story that caters to a variety of undertones. The palette has a distinct cool tone and warm tone section. This differentiation is meant to encourage artists to revisit their knowledge about colour theory and challenge them to create looks based on complementary and analogous colour schemes.

          What does it do?

The Protégé Palette includes 6 eyeshadow shades and 2 brilliant highlighters. Create subtle or eye-stopping looks with the buttery shimmers and velvety matte formulas. The palette is lightweight, includes a mirror and is perfect for your makeup kit or travel!

This palette has such a nice mix of shades, matte and shimmer, and I do believe it is indeed perfect for travel because you can easily create both daytime and night-time looks with these shades. Being true to myself. I particularly love the two beautiful highlighter shades. Oh and that shimmery copper eyeshadow!

          1. Excellent box for that price. I think the items are so nice. I've been using another SUVA palette that makes me think of you since it's inspired by colors in India, Saffron.

          5. I love the packaging for the Pretty Vulgar Setting Powder but agree that I probably won't purchase it at that price, especially since I don't use it often since I have dry skin.
