3 Beauty Balms for your Best Summer Skin!

Hi there, my darlings! So, Summer is in full swing! And if you're like me, you're doing everything you can to keep from melting altogether. That often means being guilty of skipping a few steps when it comes to our regular beauty routine. In my case, while I religiously exfoliate, I often tend to skip moisturizing my skin altogether. I mean, as guilty as that makes me to admit, my skin is often especially sensitive during the summer and most products just make me break out! So, I end up stashing my creams, moisturizers and lotions to turn toward lighter options, such as mists, gels and balms. Today, I'm sharing three beauty balms that help me keep my skin hydrated, even in the peak summer!

C.O. BIGELOW Rose Salve ($5.50 for 0.8 oz)

Maintain beautiful and moisturized lips and skin with C.O. Bigelow’s famous Rose Salve. Emulsified with extra soothing rose extract, which helps ease irritation and condition the skin. Apply to lips, face, cuticles, elbows and very dry skin patches.

This affordable little balm is a cult classic and for good reason! I can't believe it took me this long to try it but now that I have, I'm hooked! It's very lightly scented and absorbs quickly into the skin. I have been using it to keep my cuticles looking good. Packaging conveniently in a sturdy, little tin, it's perfect for travel or on-the-go! Available directly through Bigelow Apothecaries' website HERE.

LXMI Pure Nilotica Melt ($48.00 for a 30g tub)

Ultra-Hydrating Facial Balm to Transform Dry, Damaged Skin

As a 100% organic, single-ingredient skin savior, this luxurious balm-to-oil deeply nourishes thirsty skin to help smooth visible imperfections. The texture starts as a silky butter, and then absorbs quickly into skin. The micro-crystals found in the Pure Nilotica Melt will dissolve on your skin, and prove that the nuts were cold-pressed in temperate Uganda v. refrigerated lab conditions. You can use as an overnight mask or throughout the day where needed.

I was recently sent this balm to test and to my surprise, ended up falling in love with it. While the formula looks quite thick in the tub, don't be fooled! It does indeed melt upon contact with the skin to a velvety, smooth oil that my skin just drinks up! It is meant in particular for the facethe area around my eyebrows, upper lips and nose after a particular brutal waxing/threading or exfoliation session. I also massage a little into my elbows, ankles, knees and pretty much anywhere that tends to get really dry or neglected in the summer. It's a miracle on dry, cracked heels too! Find it for HERE and treat yourself to nourished, soft skin even in the summer!

TIP: If you hate the heat like me, stick this into the fridge a couple of hours before use. The balm will remain solid and you can use just a little of the still-cool product to hydrate your skin.

SKINERALS Lip Balm in Peppermint ($7.99)

Chapped lips can be a thing of the past when you have the right lip balm in your beauty arsenal. Our Aquamarine Hydrating lip balm contains all natural ingredients that softens and moisturizes lips from within rather than sealing them off like petroleum-based lip balms. Skinerals Aquamarine Lip Balm is a petroleum-free lip balm that makes sure you are always at your most kissable.

I'm a lip balm fiend and keep several stashed around the house as well as my purse. Despite the humidity here, my lips can get uncomfortably chapped if I neglect them in the least. I love the Skinerals Peppermint lip balm because it is incredibly hydrating yet very easy to wear--not sticky or tacky which is an absolute no-no for me in the summer! Plus the Peppermint flavor is surprisingly refreshing in the heat--a little pick-me-up even on the hottest day. Available in 4 different flavors, you can find them all on Skinerals' website HERE.

So there you have it, my darlings! 3 Beauty Balms that work even in the most scorching of temperatures!
