INTERNATIONAL LIPSTICK DAY WITH JESSE'S GIRL COSMETICS!

Hi there, my darlings! So, today is my very first day of my very first full-time job in Canada...AND it's International Lipstick Day! Kinda seems fortuitous, if you ask me! Because mo' money, mo' lipsticks...isn't that how the song goes?! It definitely does in my head! So, to celebrate both these occasions, I decided it had to all about lipsticks--they are my favorite makeup products and I tend to  collect more than I will ever need in this lifetime. But, a collection like this can get pricey! Unless, of course, you know where to look. One of the most affordable brands is Jesse's Girl and they have added a whole line of lipsticks that are definitely worth a look!

LIPSTICK 18 ($4.99)

Available in 12 shades:
  • ANGELES: Muted plum in a semi-matte finish
  • CARMEN: Rich terra-cotta in a shiny cream finish
  • CHRISTINA: Silky mauve in a sheer shiny finish
  • ELIZABETH: Bold sangria in a semi-matte finish
  • GEORGIA: Deep neutral rose in a shiny cream finish
  • KRYSTAL: Warm neutral pink in a cream finish
  • NIKI: Muted raspberry in a creamy shiny finish
  • PENELOPE: Rich bubblegum pink in a cream finish
  • VENTURA: Auburn raspberry in a semi-matte finish
  • VERONICA (shown below): Ruby red in a sheer shiny finish
  • VICTORIA: Soft blush in a sheer shine finish
  • YESENIA: Soft dusty rose in a sheer finish

The one thing I immediately noticed about this line is that there is a finish for everyone. Don't like mattes? Try a cream! Have a thing for sheers? There are a couple of options! That being said, I do hope they expand this line of lipsticks because there weren't that many mattes--I personally was happy because the matte shades were suitably bold or berry shades. But say, I wanted the bubblegum pink in a matte shade, I would be totally out of luck. That goes to say for any brand, but since these are so affordable and I really like the quality of these lipsticks, I'm hoping there will be more shades in each of the different finishes in the future.

Overall, it's a pretty good range of shades and finishes and a girl can definitely find a favorite or two among the twelve shades. My favorites? Elizabeth, Ventura and Victoria!

  3. I love how you photographed these. When I was at the Jesse's Girl display I forgot to look at the lipsticks so I'm going to get myself back there.

  4. I really love this line. I don’t know if I have any of the sheers, but to me the finishes aren’t that different from each other and I don’t care that much. They have so many shades I love

  5. I think Penelope might be a dupe for MAC's Candy Yum Yum. Have you tried Candy Yum Yum and can weigh in on that?
