HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE: 3 Fabulous Fragrances Under $50

Hi there, my darlings! It's been awhile and I have missed you all! Quick update: I've managed to reach India safe and sound and immediately gotten very caught up in the wedding festivities of my favorite cousin. If you've ever attended an Indian wedding, you'll know that it is a week-long affair which leaves little time for even sleep, let alone anything else. Hence, the radio silence. But as fun as the wedding was, it's drawing to a close and I still have lots to share with you all. With the Holidays fast approaching, the next few days I'll concentrate on helping you find the perfect gift and/or hordes of gifts for all your loved ones! Today's post is all about one of my personal favorite gifts to receive myself: perfumes! Find me the right fragrance and I'm usually a happy camper. But fragrance is an incredibly personal item in anyone's beauty stash and finding the perfect one can be expensive and time-consuming. So, to help to perhaps find one that fits both a particular preference (floral lovers unite!) and your Holiday budget, I've curated 3 new perfumes that I'm loving personally--that too, under $50!

ARIANA GRANDE Sweet Like Candy ($49 for 1.7 oz at ULTA)

SWEET LIKE CANDY by Ariana Grande, is the newest pillar of her top selling fragrance collection in creation with LUXE Brands. The jewel like bottle is delectably dipped in a ballet pink, matte candy coating - adorned with a fluffy almost whipped cotton candy pom pom. As the name alludes, the scent is a sweet addiction with notes of sugar-frosted blackberry, creamy cashmere woods, marshmallow and vanilla.

I'm the kind of girl who lives for sweet scents--usually florals, occasionally sweet scents like this one. That being said, I LOVE this scent. Yes, it's very sweet but it has a hint of depth with that cashmere woods note which prevents it from becoming cloying or overpowering. My sister has taken such a liking to this scent that I relinquished the full-size bottle to her and kept the rollerball for myself. It also must be noted that she adores the bottle with it's super soft little pom pom a wee bit too much--I've had to watch her rub it on her face one too many times!

KATY PERRY Mad Love ($19.99 for 1 fl oz at Walgreens)
  • Top: Lady Apple Sorbet, Mara Strawberry, Pink Grapefruit
  • Heart: Peony Petals, Sun-kissed Jasmine, Bleeding Heart flower
  • Base: Sandalwood, Skin Musk, Coconut Wood

You've already read about me raving about this fragrance HERE. Let me just reiterate how much I love this fragrance, so much so that I have worn it every single day during the wedding festivities. It's such a sweet, flirty scent which is at once just the right depth and incredibly pleasing to the senses. Plus, really, just look at the price! At that price point, everyone should definitely give it a whirl!

AVON Prima ($30 on Avon.com or through your local Avon Representative)

Prima by Avon speaks to the style lover who appreciates fashion’s ongoing love affair with classical ballet. With lush top notes of plum, a pinch of sweetness with a hint of tangy bergamot, a rich heart of intoxicating rose, and the woodsy notes of clearwood, oak moss, and patchouli leaves a poetically warm and graceful finish on the skin this holiday season.

I have to be honest here. I didn't have very high expectations for a fragrance from Avon. I associate Avon more with affordable cosmetics than with fine fragrances. So, it came as a surprise that I liked this one so much! It's a rich fruity/floral fragrance with just a touch of earthiness that I found quite pleasant. Really very nice!

So there you have it, my darlings! Do you know someone who would love one of these? Tell me in the comments section below!

  1. You're back! Yay! Though none of these scents suit my body chemistry, they are cute as a button in pretty pink and I love that. BTW, Avon is/was known for their fragrances (probably before your time and you're right, not exactly "fine" fragrances), and they often came in fancy bottles or shaped decorated bottles.

  7. You know... Avon has some really awesome hidden gems. I have a few fragrances from Avon that I would consider favorites in my perfume and fragrance collection. Even their cosmetics are great... their liners too. I have this perfume and it's a great date night perfume for me ;)
