Hi there, my darlings! TSo, after recapping both July and August's Boxycharm, I do believe it's time to share September! For those of you who haven't heard of Boxycharm, it's a US-based monthly subscription service, where you receive 5-6 full-sized beauty products for $21!

September 2015's box has 5 full-size items plus a bonus item and the theme is "Runway Ready". :

Check out the full-size Tarte product in here!

Previse Skincare HydroMilk Hydrating Lotion (priced at $48) : A little goes a long way with this milky, smooth lotion. Fast-absorbing and super-light, it's perfect for both humid, rainy days or chillier nights. The only thing that I didn't really like about this lotion--the scent. It has a faint, chemical-like scent which didn't sit very well with me.

tarte smolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof liner  in Gold (priced at $22) : A full-size Tarte eyeliner?! Yup! The price of this one eyeliner itself is equivalent to that of the whole box! Tell me this isn't a great deal! The shade it comes in, Gold, would be great for fairer-skinned beauties but as you can see in the swatch below, you can barely make it out on my darker complexion.

Chella Eyebrow Defining Gel. (priced at $18) : I've tried this gel previosuly--I think I got a sample from another sub box a few months ago and it works decently. A clear gel, it's great for managing those few, stray stubborn hairs or on a day when you're rocking your natural brows but still want a little definition.

Vasanti Foundation Brush. (priced at $32) : I've already gushed about my excitement over Vasanti products in my review of the June box so you can imagine that I felt very similarly about this month's inclusion. I like both the feel of the bristles and the slightly rounded, tapered end--it's great for picking up and applying product to every nook and cranny of your face!

SCRATCH Lacework Nail Wraps (priced at $12) : I've reviewd Scratch's nail wraps and they're great for those days when you want to rock a cute mani but cannot be bothered to go through the whole ritual of painting and drying your nails. Made with real nail polish and super easy to use. they can be worn as is or mixed-and-matched to create your own unique nail art look! Stay tuned for my creation!

BONUS : Kardashian Beauty Black Seed Dry Oil  : This is a fun, little extra. The amount in this sample bottle doesn't really allow for one to really get a feel for the product but you can definitely get a couple of uses out of the bottle. Although I haven't used it yet, dry oils are usually pretty good as a treatment or an extra bit of goodness for your hair.

So there you have it, my darlings!  If you would like to sign up for Boxycharm's monthly subscription service, you can do so HERE--each month is just $21.00. Today's the LAST day to sign and still receive September's box!  Don't forget to follow Boxycharm through the social media outlets below :

Hi there, my darlings! This afternoon, let's continue with our recaps and take a look at August 2015's Boxycharm! For those of you who haven't heard of Boxycharm, it's a US-based monthly subscription service, where you receive 5-6 full-sized beauty products for $21!

August 2015's box has 5 full-size items and the theme was "Globetrotter". I think this may be my favorite Boxycharm so far cos it's packed full of my favorite things--makeup! so take a peek at what I received :

August's Boxycharm contained five full-size products, including an entire palette (!!!)--take a peek at what I received :

Nios Shield Leave-In Conditioner (priced at $26) : I don't use too many products when it comes to my hair but I love a good leave-in conditioner! I haven't had a chance to try this one out yet but judging by the whiff I took of it, I think I'm going to like it!

So Susan Statement Skin Highlighting Crayon (priced at $20) : Gold and brown skin are like a match made in heaven. So bring on the gold eyeliners, and eyeshadows, and highlighters! But, unfortunately, not ALL shades of gold looks good on brown skin--darker golds and white-golds can be tricky, This one, happily, is a great shade of gold--rich without being too brassy!

Mica Beauty Gel Eyeliner (priced at $35) : A great winged liner is kinda like a good red lip--it can instantly make you feel sexy. I've been lining my eyes, and hence practicing drawing perfect cat's eyes and wing tips, since I was a teenager. But, in all this time, I've never tried a gel eyeliner. And let me tell you, that's gotta change! I love the precision and control this gel liner gave me and I adore how truly jet black it is.

Seta Eyeliner Brush (priced at $16) : The tip of this brush is exactly how I like it--fine without being too wispy and not a bristle out of place. It's a pricey brush so I'm really glad it was included in my Boxxycharm!

Coastal Scents Revealed 3 palette (priced at $19.95) : Ok, I don't think I've EVER received an entire palette in a sub box before! And I've tried a whole ton of them! Trios, yes, quads even but not an entire palette! The Coastal Scents Revealed palette is a palette of 20 shades in pinks, neutrals and mauves. While I liked the feel and pigmentation of several of the colors, a few really didn't show up on my complexion. But that's pretty much the case with any palette--there's always going to be a couple shades that don't work for you! Final thoughts? Very impressed and kudos to the girls at Boxycharm!

So there you have it, my darlings!  If you would like to sign up for Boxycharm's monthly subscription service, you can do so HERE--each month is just $21.00. A great price for 5 high-end items!  Don't forget to follow Boxycharm through the social media outlets below :

Hi there, my darlings! So, as you all know, I was gone for all of July and August--I spent my entire summer basking in the warmth of home and family! But, just as I was getting ready to leave, I saw a spoiler or two for some fabulous products in the next month's Boxycharm...and I was totally bummed I was going to miss sharing them with you all. But, as luck would have it, when I returned at the end of August, both July AND August's Boxycharm boxes were waiting for me! Yay! Now, these were such amazing boxes I knew I HAD to share, late or not! So, today on the blog--it's all about Boxycharms! Bright and early this morning, let's recap July 2015's Boxycharm! For those of you who haven't heard of Boxycharm, it's a US-based monthly subscription service, where you receive 5-6 full-sized beauty products for $21!

July 2015's box has 5 full-size items and the theme was "Summertime Radness". There's a couple of products I was REALLY excited about in here so take a peek at what I received :

gorge I'll Make You Look Amazing Daily Spray (priced at $29.95) : This is a great product for a summer-themed box because I don't know about you but I struggle with frizz on a daily basis during the hotter months. This particularly spray is lightweight, lightly scented and makes my hair feel amazing! I sure could have used this baby while I was struggling to tame the frizz in the humid Indian summer!

yourMinerals Tranparent Veil Setting Powder (priced at $21.00) : This is a new brand to me and I was pretty impressed with the formula of this setting powder--it's super light and not crazy chalky. I'm not sure if I could make it work for my tan complexion but if you lighter-skinned, this veil is definitely worth a try!

Vasanti Professional Blush Brush (priced at $29.00) : Oh Vasanti! I'm always excited when I receive anything from Vasanti! First of all, the name is inspired by a Sanskrit word meaning "of spring" so the name immediately has an Indian/East Asian vibe to it. Don't knock it, but the name itself makes me want to try their stuff. As for the brush itself, it's pretty great--the bristles feels incredibly soft on the skin.

OFRA Cosmetics Universal Eyebrow Eyeliner (priced at $18) : When I first opened my box and found this eyebrow pencil in it, I have to admit I was pretty skeptical. I mean, Universal? As a woman of color, I can tell you there's no such thing. Besides, I was worried that this pencil, which you do need to sharpen, would have a irritating tip--I have sensitive skin and really don't need to aggravate it. But I was pleasantly surprised on both counts. Although by no means an exact match and I still can't vouch for how universal it is, the shade is by no means garish on my skin and I do believe it will blend quite nicely! As for tip, it's really soft and smooth, without being too mushy and prone to breaking off mid-swipe. All in all, I'm impressed!

MDMFlow Greater Than- Mascara (priced at approximately $32) : Now, this. This is what I was the most excited for! I love a great mascara and the opportunity to try one from across the pond was very appealing. Did it live up to my expectations? It sure did! Packaged in beautiful gold, this mascara performs! It gives great volume and lift and you can layer it on for extra oomph. Total win!

So there you have it, my darlings!  If you would like to sign up for Boxycharm's monthly subscription service, you can do so HERE--each month is just $21.00. A great price for 5 high-end items!  Don't forget to follow Boxycharm through the social media outlets below :

Hi there, my darlings!! This afternoon, I have a story to share with you all. So, just before I left for India, Nastassia of Ooh La Lacquer emailed me to let me know that she'd like me to review several polishes from her upcoming summer collection. Since I absolutely love my Ooh La Lacquers, I was thrilled to bits! Flash forward 2 months to when I return from India and FINALLY manage to get these swatches done...but I can't find a single mention of ANY of the polishes ANYWHERE! Upon mentioning it to Nastassia, she sadly told me that she never released them because she didn't find them "good enough". Appalled and dismayed, since I had LOVED these babies, I sent over my swatches with my honest opinion of them--these were beautiful neons! And guess what!? My swatches changed her mind and she'll be added these beauties to her shop on October 1st! Yay for us all! Ready to see what Nastassia almost kept hidden away?!

Before we get to swatches, let's take a couple of minutes to talk about the application and formula. I was incredibly impressed with both the formula and application of these polishes. Being jellies and shimmers, and neons to boot, I expected them to be sheer at best, streaky at worst. But not so!   Courtesy of this trick from this article from The Trendy Nail, I used a matte topcoat, which in my case is Butter London Matte Finish topcoat as a BASECOAT but honestly, these didn't even really need that extra step. The swatches below show just 2 coats, , in the case of both the shimmers AND the jellies, topped with 1 generous coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat. With that said, let's get to swatches! First up, the shimmers!

Kaboom! is a bright, hot pink with iridescent shimmer. Such a flattering shade of pink for, I daresay, MOST complexions!

Haute Sauce is a bright, tangerine orange with iridescent shimmer. This orange is seriously fiery!

Pizaaz is an electric fuchsia-purple with iridescent shimmer. True to form, this one was my fave of the shimmers!

Laser Beam is a shockingly bright, lime green with iridescent shimmer. With the added shimmer, this baby all but glows!

And now for the neon jellies!

Bam! is a hot pink jelly accented with holographic glitter!. Again, SUCH a gorgeous pink!

Hot Stuff is a saturated orange jelly accented with holographic glitter. Now, you know I don't do oranges...but I'm kinda loving this one!

Jazzy is a rich fuchsia jelly accented with holographic glitter. I love this one--it's so pigmented and just such a happy color!

Gleam is a searingly bright lime green jelly accented with holographic glitter. Where are my green lovers at?!

So there you have it, my darlings! All 8 of these new, never seen before shades will be added to Ooh La Lacquer's Etsy shop HERE on Wednesday, October 1st! Don't forget to follow Ooh La Lacquer on FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM for exact timings and more restock info!

Which of these are YOUR favorites? Are you done with neons? Or would you rock one of these, no matter what the season? I'd love to hear from you in the comments section below!

Until next time,
