Hi there, my darlings! This morning, as always before ending our featured event, I'd like to share with you my review of a few products from this week's Friend-An-Indie-Friday sponsor, Eat. Sleep. Polish. Cat sent me 3 gorgeous polishes and a selection of her new decals to review for all you. All 3 are right up my alley--the girl knows me too well! =) So let's take a look, shall we?

First, I have for you Midnight Madness--a black linear holographic polish. Fabulous application and formula--it went on smooth and dried super quick! In the store description, Cat promised this was a two-coat wonder...and it is indeed! The swatches below show 2 generous coats by itself. Love a good black holo? Well, you're in luck!

With flash!

Next up, I have for you Raspberry Gummy Bear--a raspberry jelly polish with a linear holographic finish. Again, Again, no complaints at all with formula or application and the swatches below show 3 thin coats by itself. I absolutely love this color!

With flash!

And here's Raspberry Gummy Bear...with OWL nail vinyls! Aren't these super cute!? I chose to show you the decal with and without the eyes and center cut out so you can judge for yourself how you would like to wear them!

Last but definitely not the least, I have for you my personal favorite, Poseidon--an aqua blue jelly with tons of holographic shimmer. Application was a breeze and the swatches below show 3 coats of Poseidon, topped with 1 generous coat of ellagee's Fast Dry Top Coat to bring it all together! LOVE love love this polish!

And of course, I chose the aquatic themed decals to go with Poseidon--little purple mermaids and silver jellyfish!

So there you have it, my darlings! My very first review of Cat's Eat. Sleep. Polish line! If you would like to add any of these pretties to your stash, you can find her store HERE--a full-size, 0.5 mL bottle can be yours for the price of just $10.00! Hi, my darlings! I hope you're still with me! Because I'm not quite done tonight! When Missi sent over my Blogaversary customs, she also included 3 polishes from her Spring collection for me to review! And boy! You do NOT want to miss these! All three are STUNNING! So, here we go!

First, I have for you Tulips Are Better Than One--a stunning, shimmery purple polish with an amazing shift to a turquoise blue, with just a hint of a pink flash! A LOT going on in one polish and the result is just mesmerizing! I had no issues with the formula or application--despite being semi-sheer, this polish reaches opacity in just 3 coats, as shown in the swatches below, topped with 1 coat of G&G's HK Girl top coat. Just look at it!

Next I have for you Gasoline Rainbows--a black polish with a strong linear holographic finish, accented with rainbow flakies. Again, no complaints at all with formula or application and the swatches below show 3 thin coats by itself. The holo in this is all but blinding!

With flash!

Last but definitely not the least, I have for you Pelican Village--a super-bright, shimmery neon pink! This polish was so neon that my camera totally freaked out and refused to cooperate--thank goodness for my phone that was a trooper! Lovely application and formula--the swatches below show 3 thin coats, topped with 1 coat of G&G's HK Girl top coat. LOVE this pink!

So there you have it, my darlings! 3 beautiful polishes from DIFFERENT Dimension's Spring 2014 collection! If you would like to pick up any of these polishes, you can find them on Etsy HERE--all her polishes are $10 for a full-sized, 0.5 mL bottle, except for holos which are $11. Hi, my darlings! Just two days before I fly off but before I go, I must show you some beauties I've reviewed recently! If you recall my humongous 1st Blogaversary celebration, Missi of DIFFERENT Dimension was sweet enough to make not one, but TWO custom polishes just for the occasion! And tonight, I finally get to show them off to you! If you're in the market for customs, Missi is a great choice!

First up is Radiance Within--Missi's take on the lighter shade of this year's Pantone Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid. This beautiful polish is a lavender/lilac/pale orchid with a creamy holographic finish. Fabulous application and formula--no streaking, no muss, no fuss! The swatches below show 3 thin coats by itself. What a beauty!

With flash!

The second of the duo is Bubble Up--a gorgeous clear glitter topper with pale pink, holographic silver and pale mint circles in various sizes, accented with a ton of holographic shimmer. Missi knows how much I love circle glitter and this one packs quite the punch! I had absolutely no issues with the formula or application--even the large circles came right out of the bottle with ease! The swatches below show 2 thin coats of Bubble Up over Radiance Within above! SO in love!

With flash, to show off that holo shimmer!

So there you have it, my darlings! My beautiful customs from DIFFERENT Dimension! If you would like to check out Missi's store, you can find it on Etsy HERE--maybe you want a custom of your own?! You can follow Missi of DIFFERENT Dimension on FACEBOOK and on INSTAGRAM for all the latest news and updates!

FOREWORD :

Hi there, my darlings! As part of the FRIEND-AN-INDIE-FRIDAY featured giveaways, I'll also be posting a review of some of the new brand's creations as well as an exclusive interview with each maker, so people can get a little glimpse into the world of the face behind the brand! Today, I present Cat of Eat. Sleep. Polish! Read on for a peek into the man behind the brand!

1. How did you first get into making polish?

I have always been fascinated with creative and artistic avenues, sadly my day job is neither :(
After being a polishaholic for a few years (aka *crazy collector*) I had become quite impressed with the amazing products that were coming from the indie polish scene. Colours & combinations that the 'mainstream' market had rarely or barely touched upon. It was purely out of extreme love for nail polish & the motivation to do something truly fulfilling on a personal level, that Eat.Sleep.Polish. was born!

2. What was the inspiration for the name Eat. Sleep. Polish?

As Julie Andrews would say .. "These are a few of my favourite things!" I couldn't exactly call it, Eat.Sleep.Dogs.Cats.Rainbows.Unicorns.Jeeps.The Ocean.Polish, so I settled with 3 that sound great together!

3. What inspires your collections (or where do you look for inspiration)?

Keeping with the favourite things theme, all my collections & polishes (minus customs) are little pieces of me. Everything I create has meaning, and there is usually a story behind them. I will never make things for the sake of making them, I do what makes me happy 1st and foremost, and the creativity flows from there!

4. Do you have a favorite indie maker(s)? Favorite mainstream brand?

Favourite indies would be EPx2! Enchanted Polish & Elevation Polish. As for mainstream, I rarely buy them any more but when I do they are typically, Zoya.

5. What are your go-to products for nail/cuticle care?

I am a huge fan of Bliss Kiss cuticle oil and use it several times a day. I also really love Cake Beauty's milk made hand & cuticle buffer (its amazing!) I never ever cut my cuticles and really take good care of my precious nails! I was a former chronic nail biter, and did a complete 360. I would never dream of biting them again.

6. What are your favorite colors? In general? For summer? For fall?

Purple, blue, green, pink, yellow, red, brown, holo (that's a colour right?). Truth be told I love every colour and don't follow any sort of 'skin tone' rules. I will wear anything anytime!

7. This may be hard--but which are your 3 favorite creations so far?

An upcoming polish called Elvis is my Homeboy. This was a custom polish for a great blogger and I fell in love! From my current line, I would have to choose Bruised Her Soul, a deep plummy colour the looks classy in my opinion. Lastly, a now retired LE polish, Wisdom, the monthly polish for May. It was a beautiful vibrant emerald green holo! For those who missed it there will be a limited comeback next year!

8. Do you have any other hobbies?

Crafting! I have become pretty obsessed with crafting in general, I truly enjoy making things with my hands.

9. What is your most favorite thing about being a new indie maker? What are some of the challenges? What advice would you give to people considering starting their own brand? Overall, are you happy with your decision to get into the indie polish world?

Being an indie polish maker, has been the most rewarding thing I have done in my life thus far. The deep sense of satisfaction and amazement to know that beautiful ladies (and gentlemen!) around the world are wearing something I made, is a feeling like no other. I will say that it is not an easy feat to stay on top of everything, as I don't do 'restocks' rather, I keep a full and steady stock at all times. It is challenging being a Canadian indie maker, as shipping and logistics is quite pricey and cumbersome, but it is part of the business, you either deal with it or move along ;) The best advice I can give is, please don't think you will become a millionaire, and they making polish is as simple as throwing some things in a bottle and poof out comes a beautiful polish! If you want to do things right, it takes a good investment of money & time, and plenty of patience. I also believe that what seperates a brand and helps them rise is a great attitude and customer service ethics. If you have no patience with people and a snotty attitude, you won't ride the wave very far. After all is said and done, I am thrilled to see what the future has in store!

10. Fun facts :

Astrological sign :Scorpio and a PROUD one! I do host all the typical characteristics of a Scorp and I love them all ;)

Favorite comfort food : Fresh Fettuccine with tomato sauce. Mmmmm.

Favorite beauty item besides polish : Mascara!

Favorite fragrance : The discontinued Body Shop, Tobacco Flower :(

Favorite vacation destination : Aegina, Greece

Favorite candy : Jolly Ranchers!

Favorite celebrity : Johnny Depp, especially in Fear and Loathing :D

Favorite family member or friend (you can pick one of each) :  My mother is my absolute best friend!

Most recent read : I am in the process of reading, "Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity" by David Allen

Most recent movie you loved :X-Men - Days of Future Past

Favorite TV show and character : LOST! Gosh choosing only 1 fav character is tough, toughest decision all day! Ok lets go with, Jack Sheppard :)

If you won a million dollars, first thing you would buy is? Hawaii. If that wasn't for sale, then a large amount of land so I could care for all sorts of animals. Oh and a holographic Dodge Viper :D

So there you have it, my darlings! A little glimpse into the world of Cat of Eat. Sleep. Polish!

Stay tuned for my review of three super pretty polishes from her! In the meantime, you can check out her shop HERE!

As always, I'm thrilled to hear from you, so don't hesitate to leave me your thoughts in the comments section below!

Until next time,

Hi there, my darlings! Tonight, I have a review of a pair of products I've been extensively testing for the past month or so--Bain de Terre's Passion Flower Color Preserving Shampoo and Conditioner, a salon brand available at the new beauty website Loxa Beauty. Phew! That's quite the mouthful! But these products are well worth the grand introduction!

As always, before we get started, let's take a quick peek at the product description :

Shampoo :

WHAT IT IS

This lush, paraben-free, color-protecting shampoo is infused with fragrant passion flower plus precious argan and monoi oils that lavish hair in soft, silk perfection.

WHAT IT DOES

Passion Flower Color Preserving Shampoo is a luxurious, moisturizing cleanser that protects color from fading and keeps hair soft, vibrant and shiny.

Conditioner :

WHAT IT IS

This rich, paraben-free, color-protecting conditioner is infused with fragrant passion flower plus precious argan and monoi oils that lavish hair in soft, silky perfection.

WHAT IT DOES

Passion Flower Color Preserving Conditioner is a deep moisturizer that protects color from fading and keeps hair soft, vibrant and shiny. Ideal for color-treated hair that’s normal to dry.

USE : I used this shampoo and conditioner duo extensively for the past month--every other time I washed my hair, when I didn't use my anti-dandruff shampoo, I used this set. Use was fairly straightforward--lathered, massaged into the scalp and rinsed off with lukewarm water. In order to see the effects of just the shampoo and conditioner, I didn't use any other hair product. A few times, I allowed my hair to air-dry, while a couple of times I blow-dried my hair.

IMPRESSIONS : I've been coloring my hair, mainly for aesthetic/fashion reasons, since I was just a teen. It's been awhile since I last colored my hair, preferring to grow out the last color I tried, ready to start with a new look for the upcoming wedding. Since my hair is VERY long, the bottom third still retains some of the last shade I used...and as a result, can get quite dry. These products are great for color-treated hair--I daresay that they are great even if you DON'T color your hair. After each use, my hair felt wonderfully soft and looked beautifully shiny. The Passion Flower fragrance was an added bonus! I absolutely loved the tropical floral scent! All-in-all, thumbs up from me!

So there you have it, my darlings! If you would like to pick up Bain de Terre's Color Preserving shampoo, you can find it on Loxa Beauty's website HERE for the price of $21.00 for an entire liter of product. You can find the conditioner on Loxa Beauty's website HERE for the price of $24.00 for a full liter!

Hi there, my darlings! This afternoon, I'm super excited to introduce you to a brand-new indie line and that too by fellow beauty blogger of color, Vick of Vickermania--Majestic Lacquers! I'm really pleased that she reached out to me to swatch for her and I can't wait to show you all her first beautiful creations!

*Text in italics is from the brand's store descriptions*

Green Goddess is described as "muted seafoam green with gold shimmer and flecks". Fantastic formula and application--creamy, smooth and opaque in 2 coats, as shown below, topped with 1 coat of ellagee's Fast Dry Top Coat. This wore a tad bit bluer on me but I love this shade!

Heartbeat is described as a "clear base with a mix of black, white, blue and hot pink glitters and hot pink heart glitter." Shown below is 2 coats of Heartbeat dabbed on Green Goddess, topped with 1 coat of ellagee's Fast Dry Top Coat. Again, fabulous formula--I didn't have any issues with getting any of the larger glitters out, even from my mini bottle. I LOVE how this look turned out!

Honeymoon Avenue is a lovely, lilac creme with a touch of holographic sparkle. No complaints with either formula or application and the swatches show 3 thin coats by itself. Isn't this such a great shade of purple?!

Majestic Magic "is a glitter topper. Blue, purple, pink and white glitter topper with aqua dot glitter. Looks best over black.". Again, as with Heartbeat, I had no trouble at with the formula or application and the swatches below show 2 easy coats over Honeymoon Avenue, topped with 1 coat of ellagee's Fast Dry Top Coat. So pretty!

Treading Water is described as "medium blue jelly base with navy blue, shimmering bright blue, aqua, and holographic glitters in varying sizes." Great application and formula--the swatches show 3 thin coats, topped with 1 coat of ellagee's Fast Dry Top Coat. This may just be my favorite!

So there you have it, my darlings! Your first look at 5 gorgeous creations from Majestic Lacquers! If you would like to add any of these pretties to your stash, you can find her store HERE--a full-size, 0.5 mL bottle can be yours for the price of just $9.00! Hi, my darlings! This evening, I have a quick and easy nail art look to share with you all! If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen a sneak peek of what I like to call my "Thunderstorm" look already. But today, I'd like to share with you what I used to create this look!

All the products used in this look are from Salon Perfect--Oil Slick, a shiny black creme; silver striper; and, silver holographic nail foil from one of their nail art kits.

Here's a quick step-by-step guide :

1. Paint nails with two coats of Oil Slick. Allow to dry until just tacky or slightly sticky to the touch.

2. Flip a section of the nail foil onto the blank side and draw your thunderbolt(s)
TIP : Use a pencil or a light touch with a pen when drawing on the backs. The foils are pretty thin and ink can bleed through--I used a red pen and you can see the little bits of red that bled through the shine of the front.

3. Carefully cut out your thunderbolts and place on still-tacky nails.

4. Immediately add 1 thin coat of top coat.

5. Once dry, using the silver striper, draw dashes or streaks in a diagonal. This doesn't have to be perfect! You want to mimic the wildness of rain during a thunderstorm!

6. Seal your look with 1 more coat of top coat.

And...here are my results! I SO love this look!

So there you have it, my darlings! I must say this is one of my favorite nail art looks and it was a snap with these great products from Salon Perfect--I had pretty much everything I needed right at my fingertips!
